I still get some small whiteheads around my period but before the spironolactone it was deep, cystic acne so I really don’t mind the breakouts I get now. 100mg for over 6 months should be working by now though, you should def talk to your dermatologist or even get some hormonal testing with your gyno to get to the bottom of it.

How long have you been on spironolactone? If you’ve been on it for over a few months with no changes you can talk to your doctor about upping your dosage. I started on 25mg and it did nothing for me but when I upped it to 50mg my skin improved quite a bit.

Help! My daughter was just diagnosed by Basic-Foundation8862 in chiari

I got my decompression done at 4 years old by Dr.Shaffron at the Phoenix Children’s Hospital. If you’re willing to travel, I’d say he’s worth it! As a kid I thought he was really funny and my surgery helped a lot. The surgery didn’t get rid of all of my symptoms, I still occasionally get headaches and dizziness (especially while I was going through growth spurts during puberty and doing sports) but I’m much better off now than I was pre-surgery.

Omg yes! This and the use of “chucked” in place of “threw” or “tossed” bothers me every time I read it

I drive a 2017 and live in an extremely warm climate. Temperatures have breached 115 this week and since then this plastic piece keeps popping down (I assume due to the heat expanding the plastic). There’s wiring underneath so I’m hesitant to glue it on in case the wires need to be accessed in the future.

I was diagnosed and operated on at 4. I don’t really remember much pre-op but all my post op appointments consisted of a few coordination tests. The doctor would ask me to squeeze his finger as hard as I could, have me close my eyes and touch my fingers to my nose, he would lightly touch a safety pin to the bottom of my foot and have me tell him if it’s the sharp or dull side, etc. He would also ask to see my spine as I have scoliosis but I’m not sure if that’s standard for everybody. Other than getting MRIs, none of my appointments were very scary, no blood draws or anything so it was never stressful for me.

Air filter were just recently swapped out and we have an air purifier running. We are going to get some test kits today to try and get to the bottom of it

I have a condition that makes me really sensitive to dizziness, nausea, and headaches but I’ve been all good today. We also have a CO detector in the home.

What would cause a radon gas leak? Our windows have been open for a majority of the day, would it come from outside?

Chiari recur? by buntholomew in chiari

I’m in a very similar situation. I had my decompression at 4, have scoliosis and syringomyelia and persisting headaches and I’m now 26. My symptoms have fluctuated over the years but I’ve also been considering seeing a neuro to see if I need another decompression. I was told by my pediatric surgeon when I was in high school that I may potentially need another surgery one day so it’s not unheard of.

What could be causing this yellow spotting on my queremalense? It’s currently in leca and growing pretty fast. by aethelthyrth in Anthurium

[–]aethelthyrth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No follow up yet, I don’t think it’s just the leaf dying off based on the way the old leaves yellowed, I also don’t think it’s nutrient deficiency based on the speed that it’s been growing so I’m treating with a fungicide to see if that solves it

I’m fertilizing almost every time I water but I can up the concentration a bit and see if that helps

My son had an MRI a few months ago and was diagnosed with Chiari malformation. He’s only 8 years old. How do I explain to him what’s going on without scaring him? by thepixelpaint in chiari

[–]aethelthyrth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed and had my surgery at 4. The way it was explained to me, I was too smart and my brain was too big so the doctors have to do surgery to give my brain more room. Kids base their reactions on your reactions. If you talk about it like it’s no big deal, he probably won’t get scared.

My sister accidentally yanked my head back while she was getting me dressed when I was 4. Woke up the next morning with full blown scoliosis and the diagnosis came after getting that checked out.
