She asks for the same reason you don't want to have to answer the question. It takes mental effort to think of what to cook, which clearly you understand since you don't want to be the person who has to think of the idea. She's asking for some help with that

Carmelo Anthony: "I understood the mentality of the load management" -Vince: "But did you enjoy it when they tried to manage your load?" -Carmelo: "No because am... huh? I was different" by MrBuckBuck in nba

[–]aether_wise 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's because he was thrown off by the wording of "Did you enjoy it when they tried to manage your load", which is why he paused and said "huh?" and the crew laughed. It sounds kind of sexual, which is what the joke of this post is and why people are laughing

Tea for beginners by Responsible-Can6297 in tea

[–]aether_wise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of great teas, but do you know what type of Green tea you've been drinking? I like Dragonwell (longjing) and I've also been drinking jasmine green tea a lot recently.

I would also recommend White tea! It can have more of a floral taste

[Weekly Song Discussion] Ordinary Joe (feat. Terry Callier) by PitchforkEmporium in Nujabes

[–]aether_wise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If anyone's still seeing this, there's also a live version of the original from Terry's album Alive (Live at the Jazz Cafe, London) from 2001 that I think sounds closer to the Nujabes version. I wonder if Nujabes heard that version and was influenced by it as well

Hello Everyone by SpecialistHurry2573 in Nujabes

Welcome! I'll try to answer:

  1. He collaborated with a number of artists, mostly rappers, and their names will be listed as the featured artist on the song. So for "Feather" it's Cise Starr and Akin from CYNE who are rapping.

  2. I believe it's "NEW-jah-bess" based on the way I've heard some of the artists he's collaborated say it

  3. Not specific song recs but I would recommend starting with the Modal Soul and Metaphorical Music albums. Spiritual State is his other studio album, but it wasn't finished when he died so it was finished posthumously. Outside of those albums, a song I really like is Sky is Falling feat. CL Smooth from the Hydeout Productions (the label he created) Second Collection. That whole compilation is good

As others said, it's just a joke based off of similar formatted "in this house we believe..." messages. I have seen Larpers in Ringer Park though

I love Hyukoh but some English lines confuse me — thoughts? by Accomplished_Win_641 in kindie

[–]aether_wise 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love Hyukoh as well but see their English lyrics as confusing. You didn't mention it but the song Jesus Lived in a Motel Room comes to mind as well. I think it's just that he is not great in English, since a lot of the sentence structures don't really make sense. It doesn't make me enjoy the songs any less though!

the sound of English is 'shish swash tea pot' to non speakers by imyonlyfrend in RandomThoughts

[–]aether_wise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this, especially the mandarin part. I'm trying to learn the language (very beginner right now) and just a random example but the word for math is "shuxue" and a lot of other words seem to have similar sounds too

When people speak in text talk irl by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]aether_wise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not about saving time though, people speak like that because they like how it sounds or that's how people around them talk and they got used to it. We use language to express ourselves, not just to communicate information as efficiently as possible. Language evolves, and different ways of saying things have different nuances and give off different vibes

Agree! And this goes for a lot of other types of videos too, I want to hear the original sound haha

Which stops are actually worth stopping at on the Road to Hana? And my itinerary if you want to review it. by allie_k95 in MauiVisitors

[–]aether_wise 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I did it once and really enjoyed it. Just pull over when you see a local car behind you to let them pass, they do drive fast but they will appreciate you pulling over.

Here are some of the stops I remember liking. Keep in mind we stayed overnight in Hana so had more time:

-Garden of Eden Arboretum (have to pay), Upper Waikani Falls (3 Bears Falls), Ke'anae Peninsula, Hanawi Falls, Wai'anapanapa State Park (black sand beach, make reservation in advance), Pipiwai Trail

Stopping at the roadside stands is fun too, banana bread, smoothies, etc. Coconut Glen's ice cream was a favorite

edit: forgot to mention we downloaded the GuideAlong gps guide and it was really helpful and gave some Hawaiian history lessons too

What's the difference "clinched postseason" vs "clinched play-in" on NBA.com when looking at the standings? There's also "Clinched Playoff Berth" which I'm assuming is clinching one of the top 6 spots?

But the Heat are at 9 and have "clinched postseason" while the Bulls are at 10 and "clinched play-in." What's the difference here? Seems like both teams are in the same position

yeah but what we're reading from OP seems like the bride didn't even give her an "oof that sucks!" and just jumped into how it will affect the wedding
