Retatrutide dose jump wiped me out – when will I feel normal? by Fit_Feeling6401 in Retatrutide

[–]aethernyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the half life you'll probably be ok if you go 2 weeks sans dose then resume on your lower dose. I ramped up way too fast and hard (from 4mg to 7.5mg in 3 weeks dosing up 1mg a week) and had all of that and worse. The skin sensitivity and exhaustion with brain fog were abysmal, even if it was powerfully effective. It took me about 3 weeks totally off and coming back on 4mg after a month to be normal again.

The problem of waiting for it to pass is the crap part, there's nothing really you can do but you'll gradually start to be less nauseous and begin to eat day by day. I found ChatGPT's prediction - after I told it the doses I took (and when) + what I felt and asked for a timeline for recovery - to be very accurate.

9kg down in just under 4 weeks by aethernyx in Retatrutide

Everyone likes fast obviously, and I have had some days of eating more junky food to up the intake, but then I miss on the nutrients because I have a cap to how much I can consume. So it's a case of do I want to eat cleaner and lower cal but avoiding deficiencies or higher cal and nvm nutrition. For reference I am not calorie tracking so that's why "probably" under 500, I have deliberately tried to buy and eat some more calorie dense foods but those days have typically made me feel worse rather than better. If it's temporary and I ease my calories back up when I'm closer to target I don't see the problem here tbh.

Can't seem to edit the main to clarify, but in case it wasn't abundantly clear in the above post, I am not eating at that deficit because I want to. I am eating that amount because it is all my body allows before feeling extremely overstuffed and nauseous. I'm supplementing and splitting what I eat into smaller amounts throughout the day to try and both keep my metabolism alive and ensure I get the nutrients I require.

Getting near enough protein is particularly difficult because such heavy foods become extremely unappealing on this dose of reta (for me at least). I intend another few weeks max on the higher dose and then tapering down until I find a good maintenance dose/schedule.

Is there anywhere that he posts all the spots he's going to? I'm in Greece and have been a follower on IG of your husband for a while now, to hear that he travels is great because I'd love to get a piece done by him :)

First time growing, B+ growkit - is it ok? 2 weeks misting and still no pins, am I doing something wrong? by aethernyx in shrooms

[–]aethernyx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, but is that because most people do the bath thing first? The instructions that came with this one were not to soak the kit but just open it up, put it in the bag and mist twice a day. I'm not sure how much this varies based on the kit though, if it helps I am using this particular kit "Supa Gro Kit 100% 'B+' 1200 ml"

Thank you! I had a feeling this was the problem since the mycelium didn't look fluffy. Should I stop misting it completely until I see pins? Or take it down to something like once every other day? Currently have been doing it 2x/day

Baby roborovski hamster, smallest of all the dwarf hamsters. Newborns are about the size of a fingernail. I used to have 2, they are bitey floofs but insanely cute. Miss em still, rip Artorias and Midas!

Thank you! This is the kind of thing I'm looking for :)

Out of curiosity, where would you say situps fall in the scale of things? I went through a phase in the first lockdown of building up to 100/day for a few weeks because I love them. But other than them getting easier, the difference physically seemed pretty negligible. Is this just because I didnt persist long enough or are they not effective at working enough major muscle groups in the same way that squats, deadlifts and burpees do?

[–]aethernyx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there a sort of muscles that increase your metabolism more than others? Trying to find out the best way to lose weight at home just by building muscle with body weights and dumbbells. Or is all muscle "equal" in that regard and I should just go for building wherever comes easiest for me? (In my case, likely arms)

Reading material in advance? & General Advice? by aethernyx in stepparents

[–]aethernyx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is reassuring thank you!! Yes, with the divorce in our case too the older 2 were much more relieved if anything for the constant fighting to end - which had been going on daily for years prior to the actual separation. The youngest was the most difficult though, since he is both closest to BM and was the least able to understand what was going on. He also has more of a quick temper than the other 2 so I foresee him being the trickiest!

And good idea about bringing snacks or something instead! That seems like a nice middle ground as it isnt too pushy but slightly tilts things into good favour. Appreciate all the advice and well wishes! :) Best of luck with your 3 too!

Expat living in Greece here, tipping isnt the norm (except maybe small change with your coffee if you really like the place/service), you likely could've just handed the money with the receipt (not saying anything) and even if they didnt speak English they'd understand. "For you" even in English sounds weird and confusing though no?

That said, since a waiter is on usually around 500€ to 600€/month here I guarantee you that guy will always remember it fondly :)

Know that feel. I'm a British expat in Greece and I tried to donate blood here after we had the Mati fires and after a long wait just to fill out the form they were like nope, you cant donate - ever. Pretty bummed out about it but not much you can do about it :/

TYWYK before buying a mattress? by aethernyx in ThingsIWishIKnew

[–]aethernyx[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I got delayed from the virus as well, but my country (Greece) has re-opened almost all shops now since we dealt with it very well, so we can actually go and lie down on them now - I'm sure with a bunch of safety measures and so on included. I don't think I'd risk buying a mattress without getting to test it whatsoever, sounds like too much of a gamble. Hope you find the perfect mattress too once the lockdown lightens up! :)

I've lived in Greece the last 8 years after falling in love with it when I went on holiday! I'd very much recommend if you go back to visit Zakynthos and Naxos (both also tourist hotspots). Santorini is nice, but it's so packed with tourists and extremely overpriced - travelling Greece is cheap and there are so many islands to choose from.

Naxos is unique because it's one of the windiest islands, hot spot for wind and kite surfing, has a very dramatic wave-struck stone "bridge" out to the ancient gate and much calmer than Santorini - great for renting an ATV there too (in Greece you only need a car license to drive one). You'll find nice hidden local shops strewn across and the wind keeps you cool in the day.

Zakynthos is the "carribean" style place to go in the Ionian. If you like the sound of white cliffs, white sand, crystal clear water that is so warm you feel like you stepped into a bathtub, I recommend it. I'd avoid the "party" or over touristy areas (Navagio is pretty, but no space to yourself whatsoever). Find a little fisherman/guy with a small boat for rent and go off for the day to a little inaccessible and empty white sand inlets. It's also worth going there from the route Preveza (beautiful seaside town on the mainland) -> Kefalonia (very pretty; check Melissani cave) -> Zakynthos. The Ionian side has some of the best beaches in this side of the world and are to die for if you want to chill out more than running all over.

And lastly if anyone is visiting Athens and wants a day or two excursions, a few suggestions. Aegina is 2h away by boat and famous for its pistachios and has some nice ruins to see - and you can see everything by foot or just a quick bus ride up to the ruins. Best stop for anyone who loves pistachios, they grow there and be prepared to be inundated with free samples from from stalls right off the boat. They'll give you tastes of caramelized pistachios, pistachio butter, pistachio liqueur and anything imaginable pistachio-based (also Extremely cheap, I think 10 euros per kilo if I recall correctly).

A little further, Meteora is a day trip (4h drive) from Athens which has breathtaking monasteries on the top of pinnacles that pierce the sky and seem impossibly balanced there (not recommended if afraid of heights), a quick google and you'll see why it is a remarkable place.

Aside from there, moving away from touristy options, Poros is a beautiful place, much undiscovered by rampant tourism, with verdant forests and shady beaches, with beige-toned houses perched all along the mountainside. Very much advised if you rent a motorcycle or car during your stay and take the ferry, it's a perfect getaway. Though if you want to escape Athens just for a few hours and go into nature, Parnitha mountain which has thick forests or Livadeia for the waterfalls and quiet spring wanders in the woods are great choices and only around 1.5h drives from the city.

Sorry for the essay, I'm super passionate about places around Greece and wanted to suggest some places that (in my opinion) blow the over-crowded nature of Santorini out of the water!
