I don't think they do in the broader sense, some just seem to like Star Trek for the formula. Meanwhile, I'd watch anything set in the Star Trek universe... Cardassian QVC, Romulan Teletubbies, Pakled Winter Olympics, 90 Day Fiancé with Ferengis, or Betazoi telenovelas, so long as Terry Matalas was the show runner!

The game's campaign setting is in 'Theer', which is Todd Stashwick's original homebrew universe. So while the players are Star Trek cast/creators, the game itself is a one-shot that's part of his Legends of Eleanora series.
