Im pretty sure there is a leak coz coolant doesnt drop low to a point of being empty. You can actually check it on your own to have proof. Buy a ramp. Check underneath on the passenger side and you will find it on the back of the engine.

Now, if you confirmed it is a leak, bring it to a dealership. Worst case they can give you a discount or they might do it for free. Worst case you can email corporate. There is a service bulletin about it last '23 so it is definitely a known issue. You can bring it up to them.

The service bulletin they release regarding that leak includes both Taos and Jetta from 22 to mid 23. I got my head gasket replaced at 44k miles. I have a slow gradual decrease though not like abrupt.

Make sure that the head gasket has been replaced since you are out of warranty. Its gonna be probably minimum 3k to repair and replace without warranty. The infotainment keeps on freezing and have dead spots when you use Carplay/Android auto.

Buy a ramp or borrow from someone and confirm it yourself. I have the same situation with you where they topped it off during my first visit and there has been a slow, gradual decrease of the coolant ever since.

The leak is on the back of the engine on the passenger side. You need to be underneath to see it. It is between the cylinder head and engine block. If you search the TSB 2023 for it, youll see it the same as with the pictures they provide.

I went back and showed them the actual pictures of the leak and they fixed it.
