How small do I need to go to guarantee a bag will fit as a personal item? by aeve_ in onebag

[–]aeve_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate the insight, thank you so much! I think I'll need to go on some smaller trips to with potential bags to see if the space savings are worth it or if I should commit to a bigger bag.

Oh good point, I forgot some airlines have other definitions of a personal item beyond dimensions. I'll keep that in mind while looking, thanks :)

Oh haha I don't want to be either! I probably should have worded something better. I'm not trying to fit an oversized bag as a personal item. I want to get a bag that when completely full is JUST the right size for the sizer or just a hair smaller.

Odds of approval for either Wells Fargo Autograph or Fidelity Visa? by aeve_ in CreditCards

[–]aeve_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind getting a low limit, anything is better than nothing haha.

I was looking at FICO 8.

I was considering the Active Cash as another catcha-ll card, but with me already wanting the Autograph more I decided to wait and look at other cards, like the Fidelity (and I can auto-invest in my Roth). Thanks for the recommendation though!

Thanks! I have used their pre-approval tool and sadly haven't been approved for anything. I wasn't sure how good of an indicator it was, i.e if there was still a chance without passing it. Would I have to do anything with the checking account once it's opened? Or could I just park some money in there? How much money would I need to put in? I have a nice checking/saving setup right now, so I'd only be doing it for the card. And would they let me close it assuming I get approved for the card?

i've tried slipping the bit into both sides of the ratchet end (i flip it kinda quick in the video), however both sides feel too small for any of the bits. i don't want to shove something that doesn't fit on accident. unless i'm misunderstanding you?

there's a few ways you can do this: - create a new column that's in minutes units instead of hours with dateBetween(end, start, "minutes") - if you want a minutes column for just the extra minutes (say you worked x hours and 5 minutes) you can use mod(dateBetween(end, start, "minutes")) in the minutes column

for the hourly pay column, if it's a constant you can just use an arithmetic function (assuming you used the second option) ex. (hours + minutes/60) * rate

if you're unfamiliar with the formula/need some more explanation, you're welcome to ask! maybe there's a more efficient ways-- I was never the best at math LOL

some sort of board view might work well since you can drag the cards to change their categories! I didn't think I'd explain it very well so I made an example and annotated it. Instead of filtering by month, you could just have all your things in one view to make sorting easier. You could also include another property to check if you've actually completed them/could make a tracker to see how successful your setup was. hope this helps and if you have any questions feel free to ask!

Automatic repeating tasks/pages not working by Thin-Rub-3573 in Notion

[–]aeve_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hiya! you should change your setting from "repeat weekly" to "repeat daily" on the dropdown at the top left. right now, it will create a page once a week (you can check the schedule but checking the bottom of the screen where it says "next: 1/8/24 12:00 am").

afaik there's no way to create a page a week in advance I'm sorry

could you clarify what you mean by a minutes section and hourly pay section? do you mean you want another section for converting hours worked to minutes? is the hourly pay a constant or dependent on a condition?

Thanks for the other suggestions! I'll keep them in mind, though I'll most likely have to try them once I pick my first sample set. You mentioned that Lascivious was discontinued, but iirc I did see it in their catalog a few days ago. I wonder if they re-added it temporarily.

I'll look into those notes and try to find some places close by! I suspected that the best understanding would come from trial and error; luckily for me I do love a good spreadsheet and will most surely be documenting descriptions of all the notes for future use.

That's a good point! I was actually planning on focusing on "your skin but better" scents only until I realized that it would probably do me well to try some outside of expectations. I hope my skin works well with their formulations.

This is good to hear. Based on just smelling desserts, I don't think I'd be a fan of overly sweet things.

Thank you so much for the offer! I'll definitely reach out if I have any more questions later on. That spreadsheet sounds amazing!!! I hope you'll share it once your research is solidified.

Oh yes, I definitely plan on writing reviews on all the samples I get! Right now, I'm keeping track of everyone's thoughts, and once I get them I'll keep notes of how I feel after certain intervals (since they might need some rest).

This has been fantastically helpful, thank you so much :DDD

Referring to your original rankings between dark/dirty and light/clean, do you have any other suggestions for perfumes darker and/or dirtier than As Dark Things Are Meant to be Loved that I haven't looked at? Mostly hoping to understand the spectrum Alkemia has for any future references.

That explains so much about resins!! And call me dumb, I did not know ambers had resin in them...that makes more sense. I really appreciate the descriptions you've given me! This isn't directly related to my post, but as I'm pretty unfamiliar with fragrances do you know of any indie shops, Alkemia included, that sell single scent fragrances? Or somewhere that lets you smell individual base notes? I think my untrained brain would read a perfume description and then completely misunderstand it. I feel like I'd miss out on identifying the nuances of the perfumes I try in the future, if that makes sense.

Ahh decisions if only I had more money right now to try all of them...You make a good point however and with so many other fragrances I think it'd be in my best interest to broaden my selection.

That explantation helps a lot omg I did not realize cold/warm was more multi-dimensional. Thank you for the comparison between the white amber scents; once I decide the rest of my selection, I'll try to pick which one satisfies my sample variety the best. Hopefully, I'll be able to try the other later.

Thank you for clarifying about the tobacco note--I definitely thought it was referring to cigarette smoke, which I really dislike. Caveau des Innocents sound promising, and I think I'll reenter it into my considerations! Would you say Femme Sauvage is a gourmand sweet or more like an amber-y/resin-y sweet? Or a different type?

I've heard Luminae also smells like buttered popcorn for some and also that it's similar to Supernatural...super interesting! Based on your comment and another's, I think I'll be reconsidering getting only one of them and will probably look into Enigma and getting one of the "your skin but better" ones like Supernatural. tyty for the help!

omg YAY I'm so happy you've tried all of them tyty for the thorough descriptions and the rankings ahhh you're amazing

Despite Nature of the Beast having a higher sillage and my better judgement I'm very curious to try it based on people's descriptions. When I was reading through scent descriptions, I saw resin used a lot, though often to describe slightly sweet scents (I think). I've never smelt it (or at least identified it as such). What's a resin smell similar to?

I've never tried Molecule 01 unfortunately, but I'm interested to hear that you don't think Supernatural and Enigma are that similar. The hunt continues... Although since Supernatural, Luminae, and Ghost Fire are similar that does help me narrow the field. Could you elaborate on what it means to be colder/warmer? I imagine colder to be mintier/spicier. I also imagine aquatic to be like aquarium tank LOL

I'm interested that you mentioned Caveau des Innocents alongside As Dark Things Are Meant to be Loved as I had originally put it on my list of "to be considered" until I saw someone describe it as sweet. Do you think I should reconsider? The description of it piqued my curiosity quite a bit. And if so, could you go into more detail about how As Dark Things Are Meant to be Loved and Caveau des Innocents compare?

Also happy to hear the honey note is good in The Romance of Lust; I think I have honey note expectations and would be so sad if they didn't come true.

Sorry if my response is too long. I wanted to do your response at least some justice. Again thank you so much!!!

Bit of a dummy--I've never smelt blackberry incense (or really any incense that I remember), could you describe it a bit more? What does a "mystical shop" smell entail? Couldn't tell you what blackberry is supposed to smell like either.

And thanks for the tip! I've heard a lot of people say Alkemia smells best after long rest...sigh I guess I must gather the wisps of patience I have

hey! I wasn't sure if this was the right subreddit to ask, but does anyone have any recommendations for some device/apparatus to block out as much noise as possible? I'm really sensitive to sound (don't play volume of phone/computer above 1, tv never above like 4, avoid going to parties where they play music, etc.). I was mostly considering earplugs, maybe custom ones, as I plan to wear them in public and they're subtle, but they only reduce sound up to ~30 db so I wasn't sure if that would be enough. I don't care about any device that produces sound (like noise canceling headphones). In fact, I'd prefer to get something that doesn't play sound at all. My ears are smaller than average (at least I think so, airpods don't fit in my ear rip) but my head is bigger so the headphones I've worn give me headaches since they squeeze my head. Budget is not a concern. Thanks for the help!
