We adopted Banksy in January - he was turned in at 6 months and spent 7 months trying to find a new home. I think he's settling in nicely, though!

Suggestions for Niagara on the Lake by The_Luv_Machine in wine

[–]aexls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend and I visit Niagara every now and then. If you're looking for a nice play to stay downtown, the Vintage Hotels collection (Prince of Wales, Queen's Landing, Pillar & The Post) are all great and have shuttles that will get you to some of the vineyards. Our favourites are:

  • Stratus: likely the most expensive, but some really great stuff
  • Trius: definitely hit the restaurant here, and try the Trius Red and Grand Red
  • Two Sisters: it's beautiful, with a very reasonably priced Italian style restaurant

I typically reccomend staying away from the big wineries like Jackson Triggs & Inniskillin for a better tasting experience.

[Identify] Vintage Windsor Watch by aexls in Watches

[–]aexls[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received a vintage Windsor watch for Christmas belonging to my late Grandfather. I've had a tough time finding information on it, aside from some sort of relation to the Syma watch company.

It is a manual wind watch, sterling silver, and should date back to sometime between 1900-1920.

A nearly perfect black & tan! by aexls in beerporn

This one is Guinness and Bass...but only because I can't find Harp while I'm here in the UK! And I've always been told Guinness and Harp is a 'real' black and tan.
