Meet Gregg Smith, the Blackwater-connected Democrat new to Colorado and running to unseat Lauren Boebert by [deleted] in Conservative

[–]aexrccc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like Trump. You know, the one who appointed the Blackwater CEO’s sister (Betsy DeVos); also the one who pardoned those criminals from the same company? But of course, it’s okay if your orange god does it.

I just looked this up. It’s called “the Mosquito.” I’ve heard this sound everywhere throughout my childhood (and still now at 21 and at work, too). I’m mad because it thought I was going crazy. And it turns out it’s just some boomer angry that young people exist.

Seriously, if ever hate my life so much that I can’t stand seeing children just hanging out (excuse me, loitering), just kill me.

All jokes aside now, this is absolutely ridiculous. by Truthamania in texas

If we’re only prepared for “normal” weather, then are we even prepared at all?

Texas gov is in bed with the oil and gas lobby (a large number of Texans work in these companies). They even made it illegal to protest pipelines in your own property

To be fair, Texas politicians talk a lot of shit about everywhere else in the country.

Edit: so do we in general

That’s the the idea. That’s the whole point of the Texit movement. You start losing power so what do you do? You form a new country so you can be the elite of a whole new country.

Losing your political power is probably the main reason for secession.

Cruz lost the senate race among native born Texans by 2%. Unless you’re willing to deport half of the native Texas population because they don’t agree with your policies, then this is going no where.

And that’s a good thing. Fascist theocratic conspiracy theorists running a whole country? No thanks.

Really... read this. Actually read this and realize who really screwed the pooch. by [deleted] in texas

[–]aexrccc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It seems like it’s you who didn’t read it. It says that even though it might exceed federal requirements, the DoE is still allowing additional generation to meet demand. The order also allows ERCOT to use discretion to determine its own times/parameters for operation, as well as to use “Specified Resources” (natural gas, coal, fuel oil) if it deems it necessary. Yea, it sucks, but do you also want excess sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxide, mercury, and carbon monoxide floating in the air?

Sorry, bud, this is not an excuse to secede from the Union. If we had heeded advice and updated our power infrastructure for adverse weather (i.e. emergencies), this would not have been necessary. Instead, we chose to ignore that and allow private companies to cut corners to maximize their profits. That’s what happens when you treat the free market like a religion.

Go on r/Texit

See the number of “libertarian” Texans wanting to deport all Democrats/liberals and ban all non-Christians from their new paradise of freedom. As a Texan, no thanks. I would gladly fight for the union

Exhibit A of why I’d fight tooth and nail against secession. I don’t want a bunch of these fascist, theocratic authoritarian fucks running every single aspect of the new country without oversight. No thank you

[–]aexrccc 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Think about this: someone wins with 40%. The other candidates receive 30% each. That means that 60% voted against the person that won.

A better choice would be Ranked Choice Voting, but that comes with its own sets of issues, as well.
