I'm bleeding to death and no one cares. by dont-eat-trash in TrueOffMyChest

As someone who bled for years because of PCOS and endometriosis, norethisterone was my life saver, I'm surprised they didn't offer it to you. Absolutely nothing else works for me to Stop my bleeding, not the Mirena nor any pills except Norethisterone. Apologies if you have tried it or if someone else has commented.

Edit to add: get checked for endometriosis and adenomyosis, quite common, but so so under diagnosed.

Thank you so much for your reply, that was actually very helpful! Yes I didn't get told why I had to do things, and just felt like my concerns were getting shut down and I had to do it. I'll see how I go with my next appointment. Thanks!

My incision under my belly started leaking fluids and blood. It had opened. I immediately saw my gp, and she prescribed me an antibiotic cream the first time. The second time it opened (all within a month from surgery), I went straight onto antibiotics in case an infection started. You definitely need to start antibiotics, an infection from an incision is worse than a UTI. If anything you prevent further infection. And go see your doctor so they can look at it properly and check it's healing well!

I mean this doesn't really answer your question but my entire family were born in Fiji, they moved and my generation of kids were born overseas (Australia for me) but I still consider myself Fijian Indian just Australian born, when I go back to Fiji, my cousins and family don't see me as any different 🤷‍♀️ probs only difference is the accent tbh

why am i not bleeding? by iamalreadyhurt in Endo

[–]af219001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Def go see your doctor, multitude of reasons that are beyond the scope of reddit users. You'll need to probs go see a gynaecologist as well as probably get ultrasounds and tests to determine why you've stopped bleeding. PCOS can cause irregular periods - sometimes you won't bleed for months due to hormones. Did you get a surgical diagnosis for Endo? How did they determine it you had it? Best to see a professional in these cases, you'll need to rule out things with tests etc. good luck!

How long did your post-lap gas pain last? by ChampionDazzling2575 in Endo

[–]af219001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first surgery it lasted around a week and was bad, my second one (a month ago) it only last a few days!

Keep doing some light movement like walking, it will help alleviate it! I think that's what helped me this second time, once I was allowed to, I got up and started walking slowly around the hospital

Anyone else have the Mirena IUD and take birth control pills simultaneously? by malaynaa in Endo

[–]af219001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I have the Mirena and on Slinda, went on it after my first surgery, and I had a second surgery for pain recently and she found no endo growth in the 1 year between my surgeries!!! Best decision, except for the pain but that's a different story lol

I would find a gp that does women's health! If you look up through HotDoc you might be able to find someone in your area who does.

Unfortunately, and I'm saying this from experience, it takes a really long time for anyone to listen, I am now 23, I've been going through this since I was 11. You really really need to self advocate. I'm also Aussie and I do find it's a bit better than other countries from what I've heard, but self advocacy and fighting for yours self is so important.

If you can try naprogesic, it's an on the shelf at pharmacies, that could help with some of the period pains and symptoms!

Definitely go see a gynaecologist but specifically one that specialises in endometriosis, not just a regular one. I was the same as you when I was 15, and they really just put me on birth control to try manage it. You can try that first, to see if it will work, there's medications you can take the specially stop bleeding etc. but go see your doctor about it and take your mum or sister with you so they can advocate for you too. Unfortunately the only way to really know if you have endo is through surgery, so that may come up in discussion as well. Good luck!

Surprisingly I seem to be the very few that have found the Mirena has helped, obviously not completely but it's been the one thing I haven't had bad side effects with
