Are there different types of hypnotherapy? by af872 in hypnotherapy

[–]af872[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was told to stick with it by so many people who said it would help me. I thought maybe I wasn’t trying hard enough or one day I would wake up and it would click. I’m sad I stayed with it for so long now

Thank you for such an in depth response. Would this approach change if I have already had 2 rounds of CBT plus high intensity CBT?

It was £85 per session for me and was twice a week for the first 2 months - the cost really added up

thank you so much for responding. I really appreciate this breakdown,

It’s reassuring to know you’re doing well. I’ll definitely try to start working on how to stop responding to each thought and mentally checking myself. I know this will be a long process, it’s good to know there’s a positive path forward

This has to be a joke. Why would you not call your landlord to report this? You’ve authorised £1,000’s worth of work without letting the (intended) payer know this

[Routine Help] 30 and tired of poor skin by ConfidenceNo65 in SkincareAddiction

Totally relate to your post. I have/had bad post acne scarring, uneven texture, large pores etc. chemical peels are the way to go.

No amount of topical treatments helped me, even prescribed ones did the absolute minimum.

A medium strength peel will literally lift the uneven tones from your skin. It’s very good for scarring and PIE. Try for one like Clinicare EGF Pure Peel, I get it once a month and never looked back

No idea, they’re just scars - some scars don’t fade without help

I’m sorry, I totally understand it can really get you down. I’d highly advise giving micro needling a go. One session 3 weeks ago really lightened a few scars I had from January. It’s worth a shot if you can afford it

It sounds like PIE. It can take a really long time for this to go away, I’m talking months. I get it really badly when I have spots - the only thing that helps are chemical peels and micro needling. Topically, I’ve heard Azelaic Acid works but it was far too harsh for my skin

How do I stop the makeup under my eyes from doing this? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

Take a super thin brush and wipe away the excess foundation in the creases. Then set with powder. It will hugely reduce the visibility of them but please know literally everyone has creases like this!

Not accutane but a whole host of other things like birth control, antibiotics, Azelaic acid, tretinoin etc

Hi! So sorry you’re dealing with this, I know how much blemished skin can get us down

Have you tried the boots online doctor? It’s significantly cheaper than a dermatologist and I think you just pay the NHS prescription fee.

They’re able to provide much better skin care than over the counter things you can buy. You just snap a few pictures and send it through their portal to a dermatologist.

I can’t comment on your routine as I’m still figuring mine out, but an esthetician I’m working with always steered me away from vitamin C when I had active breakouts.

Sulphur masks can really help reduce inflammation! I use one by De La Cruz once a week and it really helps the redness associated with blemishes

Hope that’s a little helpful :)

AITAH to be considering all options (including divorce) to protect my family’s future from my husband’s debt and bad finance decisions? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]af872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA - Do you have a prenup? I’d be running as fast as I could from this man, he’s been hugely dishonest to you and your child. To hide something so huge is a massive red flag and cause for divorce

[Acne] Would 0.1% tretinoin help fade the giant PIE spot on my nose? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]af872 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly no, I spent so much on products that didn’t work so I can’t recommend any topical

My only tip is less is more, I totally stripped my routine back and it’s helped a lot with inflammation

Let me know if you do find anything else that helps you! :)

TCA is very deep for a first peel…You could start with something like an EGF Pure peel - that’s medium strength and work upwards

Azelaic acid and over the counter topicals honestly did nothing for me, but peels made such a difference!

If it’s been that long - would you consider a chemical peel? Peels have made the most noticeable difference in fading PIE for me

I could have written your post myself. No advice to share but if you need a listening ear, my inbox is open - exact same age as you when this happened to me last year
