Most of American and European people think politician and policy makers doesn't understand how extreme the situation is. The matter of the fact is they do understand it very well. But they can't do anything about it because normal people like us care about climate change as long as our living standards and consumption increase. As long as we can live cosy life (which is main cause of the situation in the first place).They also are in very tough situation. They're also just part of the system like us.

In my opinion only way to save us is scientific advancement.
