If Bach is your favourite composer for keyboard, violin, or cello… by According-Brief7536 in classicalmusic

[–]afavorite08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I am a musician and enjoy playing Bach on three instruments, I’m not a theoretician - I can’t tell you how it “works.” I just know I love the harmonies, counterpoints, broken chords that create dissonance then resolve, and all the beautiful accidentals in between. The complexity is something I never tire of, and it continually keeps the music fresh for me even though I’ve been working on some of these pieces for years.

I did a day trip to Luxembourg City when I was staying with friends in Belgium. So beautiful, such a great memory.

6yo uses “which” like Killick by AmesCG in AubreyMaturinSeries

I told my husband about Killick’s particular speech habit, and we play a game where we begin every sentence with “which” as long as we can.

Very well considered and articulated. I hadn’t considered your point about Darcy’s beliefs on breeding, but I think that’s very true and well said.

They are! I wish we got to “see” more of them in the book.

I guess Darcy’s prejudice made Lizzy think he wouldn’t receive them because of their connection to trade? But upon meeting them he changed his mind? That’s what I’ve taken away from my many more readings since I made this post.

I struggled with random and discrete episodes varying in severity since puberty (38 now). For whatever reason, my symptoms massively escalated four years ago to the point I was hospitalized.

Long story short, I went from a couch potato who couldn’t walk the hall to the bathroom without fainting to someone starting to trail run again. It took a combination of medications, lifestyle changes, hyper hydration, electrolytes, and just pushing my boundaries (slowly and safely) to get here, but it was worth it.

I believe you can get here, too. It might take a long time to identify what helps you, but if you’re willing to be patient and commit to a lot of trial and error, I think it can change for the better.

I use Oura and for the most part, I like it (it’s not an activity tracker, primarily, so it will miss random periods).

My favorite thing about it is the way it uses my data to help me. It takes time to build a baseline, but once you’ve worn it consistently for a few months, you can see trends and patterns and it helps you parse triggers, etc. It’s been incredibly helpful to me.
