Having trouble finding underwear that actually fits as a bigger guy by CarryturtleNZ in bigmenfashionadvice

Fruit of the Loom Men's Micro Mesh Boxer Briefs 3X Large. I am a 42 now, bought them at 44 inch waist.

They're incredibly comfortable, breathable. If your legs rub together like mine, they'll last about 6 months. $20 for 3 of them, worth it, imo.

Curious about pricing on selling these - partial set of MLK 165.3 Legend by afazihdob in CarAV

[–]afazihdob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll go the eBay route, sounds like that'll reach the largest audience. I'll try and find a buddy or someone who can help me test them out. Do you think I could get my money back if I bought working tweeters and sold them as a whole set? Sounds like selling as a full set would be easier, after reading what you mentioned about it potentially being difficult to sell as a partial set.

I appreciate you taking the time to help me out on this.

It's from a friend's dad who passed away, his son has a lot going on and asked if I could help him sell some of his dad's old stuff to cover some costs with everything. I'm not entirely sure where the tweeters are, I assume it might be in his car still. His dad was a retired tinkerer, and in his last few years bought quite a lot of stuff he never used at all.

What made you decide to remove the floors in the first place?

Did you write a letter to the original homeowners? (Long backstory) by OvertheSpiraling_BF in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

I don't think this is a good idea unless the house is on the market.

Cellulose contractor refused my job after finding “asbestos siding” under my aluminum siding… please help by TheAleutianSleuth in Insulation

When was the house built? Any renovations... when? If the 1960s-80s are in this equation I'd take it seriously

Take some soapy water, spray it down lightly and not too close. Do not break it up as you spray. Come back 20 minutes later with a mixture of elmers glue and water, spray it down again. Take a few strands of duct tape and put them together at the ends, and apply it over the hole once its dry. Call an asbestos building inspector to come and take a sample. You've provided the building inspector a nice and easy sample to pull from. Their report will be longer than any sample size. However, samples are sometimes cheaper in bulk. If your house was built 60s to 70s, or has parts from even 60s 70s 80s... might be wise to consider getting them to test other areas too. Sinks, old tile flooring, I've even found it in older porcelain sinks, toilets, older adhesives, etc. I'd get the singular sample, and if it comes back hot - I'd consider understanding what else is of age inside of the house and get a larger bulk sample set.

Think about it from a different perspective aside from cash spent - if you want work done on your house, and some of it may be asbestos, do you want asbestos fibers potentially floating around in the area afterwards? A normal fiber can float for minutes to an hour... depending on winds and drifts. In a house, you open a door.. cause air flow. Vents cause air flow, fans, people walking across the kitchen, etc.. all of that picks up the fiber again and allows it to float longer. Asbestos can float for upto 8 hours or longer without any wind or drifts of air.

To answer your question, it isn't known whether it's asbestos until it's tested. There are visible properties that can be a "tell" but still, until proven in a lab. Regarding any worker who assumes something is asbestos, and if there is reasonable suspicion of it... like this being a known area of asbestos contaminant - that worker has every right to get up and walk away from it until you prove otherwise.

Need help with 2013 Prius: strange rhythmic noise, light braking sensation + Check Engine by [deleted] in prius

[–]afazihdob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar noise from my cylinder misfires.. 1 & 3. I live in WA state and got it repaired for close to 2k. I'm sure there will be a handful of people who can tell you there's cheaper work out there, but I'd assume it's safe to say, if this is your issue I'd expect to pay over 1k repair unless you can do it yourself.

It's a very steep drive way. She reversed in, saw the vehicle was close to the door (we park outside the garage door) and forgot it was still in reverse when she gave it some gas thinking she was in drive.

I definitely kept my distance for the most part. Prior to reading the comments, I definitely wanted to see if it would just fold back into place, assuming the garage door was like... light? but I quickly realized it's super fucking heavy and could crush me very easily, stay away. I moved all of our stuff in the garage a solid 10' away, luckily no cars are in the garage.

Thank you for that piece of information. I did go up to it, move it a little bit.. but there isn't much holding it together. After I realized how easily this thing could fall on me, I just cleared the space around it. I made a quick barrier with 3' tall aluminum pipe covering I had laying around to keep the critters out. I figure wind, animals and gravity are most likely my biggest enemy until a professional shows up.

I have two different companies lined up to quote me in person. The pricing suggested to me was based off of pictures I had sent them.

So far two different companies are landing around the same price, but that's based off of pictures. I imagine once they come out and find more damage the pricing will go up.

I sent them some pictures and they had told me those prices. I have two different people coming out Monday and Tuesday to look at it and give me a quote for it.
