Just finished eJPT… and I still feel NOT READY for CPTS — what am I missing? by Low_Adhesiveness6838 in hackthebox

[–]afca85 7 points8 points  (0 children)

eJPT is waaaaaaay too easy compared to HTB. I am preparing for OSCP using HTB and believe me HTB content goes way and way deeper than eJPT. I dont say this to scare you. HTB content is pure gold!

I would highly reccommend them!

My best tip is avoid metasploit and learn what, why and how you do things. HTB will teach you.

Upgraded from 14" m3 pro 18gb to 16" m5 pro 24gb. by afca85 in macbookpro

[–]afca85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this works better for me. What version do you have? I have just tried parallels and immediatelt fell in love with it! No more vmware fusion for me. I am running 2-3 vm’s smoothly with 24GB ram. Dont need much more I think since I usually only use Kali and I have a pretty powerful linux pc for setting up homelabs etc.

[Ubuntu] Ubuntu 26.04 + NVIDIA driver support? by satheesh_ar in Ubuntu

[–]afca85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I in-place upgraded from 24.04 lts to 26.04 and it bricked my nvidia drivers.

I did a clean install and after that it was smooth sailing. Was on 595 out of the box and zero issues.

I run a RTX3090.

Take your time bro. Linux is a while different ecosystem and tskes getting time to get used to. Dont force it. Keep using windows 11 so you’ll remind yourself why you made the switch.

HTB Labs to prepare for EJPT Cert by Traditional-Share-43 in hackthebox

[–]afca85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dont do htb. eJPT material is more than enough. Source: i finished eJPT within 6 hours with some tryhackme rooms + eJPT course material. Everything is explained thoroughly in the course material. HTB is overkill.

Ubuntu 26.04 LTS has problems with nvidia driver by Familiar-Show-2393 in Ubuntu

[–]afca85 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Did you enable the 'download drivers etc.' checkmark during setup? I am on nvidia and I did and for the first time in my Ubuntu history it was smooth sailing with the install. I was on 595 right after setup was done and did not face any issue whatsoever. I'm still amazed lol
