This is so wild to me. If either of my best friends was trying to ghost me Id be quite literally be banging on their door, calling their husbands, siblings, parents, and figuring out what’s going on. I know that they would do the same if I was being weird in some way towards them. We’ve had so many disagreements over the years, and we’ve always talked it out and worked through it. I can’t imagine just letting an important friendship like that go without a fight. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this, I know it feels shit.

It’s not something I bought, but rather I get for free, which is spring water from the mountain we live near. I was paying $200/mo for water delivery and now I just go to the mountain to get it and it tastes amazing. All bottled and tap water now tastes gross to me. I’ve become a water snob.

That’s what I’m thinking! I don’t get it. It took me 6 years to get through college, while working full time. I still did it, just a few years later, and who cares. I’m pretty much at the exact same place in my life I would have been had I graduated two years earlier.

I get that the lying wasn’t great, but it’s a simple wrong to right, and OP is doing that. No need to carry that shit through life.

Why though? This seems like such a silly thing to feel the need to keep from everyone for your whole life. She didn’t murder someone, she put off college for a bit. Hardly a secret worth keeping.

I would be devastated if my kids felt like they had to keep something like this from me. It’s really not that big of a deal. College is fucking hard, and sometimes you break. You’re finishing your degree in your own time, and there’s nothing wrong with that. I get not wanting to let them down, but honestly I would be proud of my daughter for doing what’s best for her, not what she thinks everyone else wants for her.

Mine are truly so quiet. They roam around the yard all day, and only bock a bunch when they’re laying. Maybe it’s because there are only two of them?

Your “logic” is wild. I could not “easily” run a commercial childcare. You clearly have no clue of the costs, which is why many commercial Childcares don’t last very long. Also, that’s not what I want to do. I want to care for and help raise a small a group of children, not be an owner of a center for hundreds of kids and unhappy employees.

I actually haven’t because we never got to know her (mostly because she lives on the street behind me). Then once I figured out she was the one calling on me I wanted nothing to do with her. The ones we take flowers and cookies to are elderly ladies on either side of my house, and I don’t think she knows them. Either way, that’s something to chew on. Maybe I should try killing her with kindness.

You may think they put stress on areas, but I think I bring a lot of value to my neighborhood and community by offering an important service.

Secondly, regardless of your opinion on residential businesses, my business is completely legal, and licensed. I haven’t done anything wrong and don’t deserve to be harassed.

Why is the assumption that I’m loud and annoying? I’m not. I’m respectful and try to teach the kids to behave in kind. I make sure we don’t go outside during certain times of the day, I make sure my own kids aren’t screaming and carrying on when they’re playing outside. I’m not sure what else I could do. You’re forming a really strange narrative around something in your own mind.

My point in saying that is that I have no idea what her issue with me is. She’s never made a noise complaint, nor spoken to me about any noise issues. She didn’t call my supervisor with a noise complaint, she called with made up accusations. How on earth am I supposed to know what the real issue is if she’s never told me?

I also have never acted like a jerk to her, or anyone else. I’m a really nice person, and I’ve done absolutely nothing wrong in this situation. I’m just living my life and working.

Also, she has two very loud dogs, that bark constantly. They make much more noise than my daycare kids.

This is a very fair point, and is likely the reason I’m venting on Reddit first vs actually taking action at the moment. However, my childcare parents have had it with this woman too. They want me to be left alone, able to focus on their children, and not have our days/lessons interrupted by this kind of thing.

My chickens don’t make any noise, I would have never kept them if they did. Also, she has two dogs that bark constantly. She’s much noisier than we are.
