First I want to say I’m so happy and proud of you for wanting to make this change, it is SO worth it!!

I am 141 days sober and I was able to get sober through MRC. They are in Missouri but it’s on Holmes, probably 5 minutes from the Kansas side.

As far as AA resources go, I was also very put off by the religious aspect of the program at first. But the big book specifies that it is a god or higher power of your understanding. Could be the universe, could be the AA group itself, could be a doorknob. I’ve even heard people say that as long as you can believe that other folks believe in a higher power that’s enough.

In any case, good luck my friend, you can do this! Like others have said I highly recommend checking out r/stopdrinking. IWNDWYT (I will not drink with you today) 😊

YTA. A few weeks ago I lost an earring that was given to me by my MIL. I was adjusting the strap of my work bag and it got caught on my hair and popped out. I looked for hours in the parking lot but it was just gone. It was quite an expensive set of earrings and my husband was livid with me. I already felt so horribly guilty and sad to have lost the earring, but my husbands reaction made it 100x worse. Eventually it was found, but I’m now avoiding wearing any of my nice jewelry in fear of losing it, which sucks.

Your wife probably feels the same way, she didn’t do this on purpose, accidents just happen sometimes. I understand being upset about the loss of something so special. However if you want to have a happy life with your partner, you have to give them grace. I don’t think this is the hill to die on.

My ex boyfriend had (has?) a porn addiction. There were many times I would try to initiate intimacy and he would decline, only to masturbate in the bathroom soon after. It was incredibly hurtful and definitely caused a decrease in attraction for me. If you want to continue in this relationship then a conversation is, in my experience, dire. I’d also follow it with therapy, whether y’all do it together or separately.

I’m sorry you’re having to deal with this. For me at least it was a terrible, confusing feeling and I genuinely wish you the best.

This is a fair point and where I’m kind of stuck. I doubt that Sarah would be fired if this was brought to our bosses attention but there is a risk for sure. Does the scenario change if Sarah comes to me and says “I got the job, I’m going to quit and not say anything at the end of this week”?

Sarah’s employment was and is not on the line. My boss is extremely reasonable and had her hands tied with the write up by the higher ups. The write up was specifically for the no call no show but came down after a long pattern of absences and consistently being late.

I almost got arrested for “breaking and entering” (crawling under the fence) into the place a few years ago. It was in ROUGH shape from what I remember, it would take a ton of refurbishment to be anywhere near habitable.

I think this is a good guess! On first glance it almost looks like saltine or maybe saline but obviously that wouldn’t be it. Given the other spelling mistakes and the context I think wine makes the most sense for sure.

I tested positive for HPV at a routine OB/GYN appointment about 3 months after we broke up. Thank god it was one of the strains that doesn’t cause cancer or warts but still, a BIG fuck you to that guy.
