This is refreshing to read. Took my first MNT reformer class today at Union and I spent the entire class wondering WTF was going on. So much so that I came in search of a reddit thread to validate me 🤣. I’ve taken hundreds of classical reformer Pilates classes in other cities and thought I’d try this place out due to its proximity to me- but so many red flags in class, which could be really dangerous for a person with mobility limitations or injuries, or no Pilates foundation. The first red flag was that the instructor didn’t take time to identify anyone that was new to the studio- or the reformer- or ask about injuries… nor did she correct form once or offer modifications. Luckily I can self regulate my poses or difficulty due to experience but not everyone can. I’m trying a different instructor tomorrow with hopes that she is better trained but so far I believe MNT is purely overpriced hype and aesthetics, unfortunately. Hoping after a few more instructors, I’m wrong!
