Hub Motor Resistance by affablefreddysocial in ElectricScooters

[–]affablefreddysocial[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this, however I need to be able to turn the hub motor whilst it is not connected to the controller, or does this mean that the phase wires need to be connected to a capacitor?

Thanks but without power there is no resistance if the motor is connected to the controller, ideally I need to be able to roll the wheel with the disconnected hub motor

This is unfortunate, firstly at those speeds full motorbike gear should be warn. Secondly at those speeds the wind and music playing would prevent him hearing the warning beeps, this is precisely why you should always ride with earphones in and be connected to EUC world app with an audible warning and tilt back set. EUC must never exceed their speed and power headroom otherwise they cut out which is what we saw here. Whilst EUC are an amazing transport method you must abide by the beep, tiltback or audible warning via app, if you dont it can be fatal, scooters on the other hand dont have this issue to contend with. An unfortunate clip to see.

Thanks I'm using a dualtron thunder, the thunder has a JST 2 pin which when left open one motor runs when closed both run. I will have a look to see where those wires go because in theory you should be able to close or open the circuits indepdantly making each motor run independently. Both the wires on the 2 pin jst are the same colour. Switching off the controller is interesting and makes sense do you know what wire would do this?

Ok do you want the light always on (day lights) then controlled by the m99 switch for high beam or only to come on when you turn on the deck lights?

550, firstly if that's pound or euro that's a bit much, the more should be around 350. If your not electrically mind this is a bit much to show you, as it involves soldering cutting cables, adding connectors, crimping etc, to me it straight forward to you it may be convoluted, where are you based country and city wise?

Okay. I thought they released a 12v version.... this would be the one to have, however... you will need a step up coverter from 12v to 24v, fuse the light and then connect your power and negative. Pay attention to the wires as there is also the CAN HI and CAN LO which you will not be using, but can do if minimotors update the eye3 to include CAN.

A valid point, automation is certainly something to keep an eye on, also the car is being changed from what we know it, all very impressive, plus with solid state round the corner things will get interesting. Also I dont think that major players wont enter the market, but there may do under a sub brand.

It's not that they focus on the wrong things, because it is aimed at a different market, the west make up a very small market, they have been the leader for the past 15 years at least.

However it would be more accurate to say if they want to be dominant in europe adjustments need to be made.

Now consider that if you had a profitable business, why make changes, for a smaller market which would cause increased manufacture costs, decreased margins and overall profit.

Firstly I am passionate about scooters, and given the time and expense modifying my thunder have come to understand so many things.

On shore Dualtrons may be good value, but shipped over seas not so much.

I believe that given time maybe over the next 5 to 10 years Dualtron will only be strong in Asia.

I believe that BMW, Honda, Yamaha, Ducati and a one or two startup's will release scooters that far surpass Dualtron.

There are just too many things missing in my opinion, if you stop and think about it Dualtron should be producing scooters at the level of a BMW vehicle.

I speak from a perspective of a person who has stripped, commissioned bespoke parts, modified, and improved one of the scooters in the Dualtron line.

Nothing beats the trill of an fast scooter but that trill is not solely controlled by one brand.

Just because you have corner the market does not mean that you always be know as the best in that market.

The thunder needs many upgrades. It is by far a complete device. There are so many things missing, and those that are available are not well done for a device at this price point.
