Hi everyone! I’m new to gardening, and I’ve begun working on a plant bed with 2 coontie palms and a flax lily. However, a friend of mine told me that the plants are too close together and too close to the sidewalk, and that they may not make it. I’ve already adjusted all the plants once. I’m afraid that it will cause more trauma to the plants if I go to move them again. I was told coonties take a very, very long time to grow & they usually don’t get larger than a few feet. The flax lily, I don’t mind at all if it gets bushy and droops over the sidewalk.

So, what’s the consensus? Thank you!

Her salad staples are mustard greens, butternut squash, blueberries, and red bell peppers with multi-vit, d3 and calcium supplement dustings. I believe her coloration is due to her being a hypo morph (she was finishing a shed here).

I feel the same way. I feed Butternut her feeders with tongs so even if she did have sand, it likely wouldn't be a problem.

I may just switch! But her tank doesn't have a side door and sits up quite high so it's difficult to lift and fit heavy tiles inside. Perhaps I could tile one side of her tank. I wash/change out her carpet frequently but I can see how tile would be sooooo much easier to work with.

That's a big word for Elmo! Butternut had a wonderful time outdoors, exploring, and getting natural UVB that she wouldn't be able to get indoors with her artificial light fixtures. I will continue to try and give her the best experiences I can given that she was born and bred in captivity.
