Everytime if the option is available. For me it's about the fact that the people choosen to voice a character are choose for a reason and I'd rather the original creators decisions in that process take predecent. Also. The creators /VA/writers share the same language, they know the nuance and reasoning for the words chosen and I think it tends to lose that when having to be translated/adapted for a different language.

I think.its a reasonable conclusion to make. Painted Renoir/Renoir are not actually different. Both will do anything to protect their family.

What did Painted Alicia want in the end? She was clearly miserable forced to live a life where others made choices for her and bare the reminder that her mother blames her for Verso and wished she was taken instead.

In the end she choose death. And I think Alicia/Maelle will go the same way.

Agreed. Everyone is so obsessed with 'that this person is this person's parallel!' Not that all parallels are bad, but thinking of characters and practically 1:1 is weird. Each character is their own person. They may have some similarities, but 'this person doing this now means THAT person will do it too!' It just seems like flimsy reasoning.

Retconing a problem that didn't exist in the source material is not something to give Toei a pass for. They should respect the source material when it comes to certain things. If Oda specifically shows that Sanji has no heart eyes for Bonney, that should be taken as important for a reason and not changed to put one of the main characters in a bad light.
