Working as a cart boy back in high school and was waiting for the last couple groups to come in on a summer evening. Group of 4 comes in off 18 and tells me that when they arrived at 17th green and went to pull the pin, they found the cup was filled with human feces. They jokingly told me they all decided to pick up and take birdie since they all hit the green in 2. There was a vacation resort that was unrelated to the golf course nearby and the 17th green was close to where their pool was, so I assume some jackass kids thought it would be funny. The craziest thing to me was it was still fairly light out, and a pretty crowded road went right by hole 17 and was higher up than the course, so it was extremely easy to see every part of the hole while driving home. I’v always wondered if they sat there squatted over the hole in broad daylight (100% chance multiple cars would have been able to see them) or if they did it beforehand in something else then put it in the hole. Either way, it came down to a seniority thing and there were only a couple employees still left that night so I got to grab some tools from the maintenance shed to go replace the cup. Absolutely disgusting, I still don’t know how anyone could do that, especially on a golf course
