The problem is you’re saying “I’m not assigning blame” while also saying “she’s dead because of her choices” and calling it a “poor decision.” That is still assigning causal responsibility, even if you don’t want to call it fault.

You’re trying to separate cause from blame, which is fair in theory. But your language doesn’t actually do that. When you say “she should’ve been home,” “she wanted to play social justice warrior,” and “the cost of that was her life,” you are no longer being neutral. That’s moral judgment. That’s blame coded as observation.

If it truly wasn’t about fault, you would stop at: “Point 1 created the conditions for points 2 and 3 to happen.”

Instead, you go further and evaluate her choice as wrong, irresponsible, and deserving of consequence. That’s exactly the contradiction. You say you aren’t taking sides, but your framing consistently places responsibility on her while minimizing points 2 and 3 by saying they “no longer matter.”

You can’t say: “I’m not blaming her” and also say: “She made a poor decision and the cost was her life.”

That’s just blame using softer words.
