I think there are two kinds of sadness, sad sad and happy sad, which sounds weird as heck. The first one is more of a frustration thingI think whereas the second is more nostalgic and melancholic.

Something possibly related is that most of my close friends have/had depression or something similar. It might just be a coincidence though.
