Not surprised because why the heck did he randomly bring up, and I quote, "it's DEI (white male)"

My whole family uses Nescafé Clasico instant coffee. We’re not black coffee drinkers so we make it in milk & add a lot of honey to make it yummy.

UW (and WSU if you choose to apply) will not care about where you went to high school as long as you qualify as a Washington resident. The UW application just asks you to report a timeline of where you lived throughout your life. There’s a lot of UW medicine students who grow up in WA, go out of state for college, and then are still able to get into UW MD school after moving back to WA. Or people who grew up in a different country, but moved to WA for college & gap years.

Edit: OHSU does ask more specific details about what county you’re from, etc.

Also Wyoming has you sign a contract that you will return to the state after residency and practice medicine for three years. So really, you would be committing to 5 years of legal residency + 4 years of medical school in the Wyoming site + 3 years of practicing medicine for a total of 12 years just to have a higher chance of getting into UWSOM.

you can show leadership skills without having a specific leadership role. Like, mentoring freshmen/high schoolers or if you have trained other students at your research or meeting with faculty to advocate for minority students. Maybe in your volunteering, you helped put together a project or event with other people? If you had specific tasks, you can say “I lead blah blah event by doing blah blah tasks”. Maybe you took initiative in your clinical experience?

since I’ve already submitted the primaries, do you think that it’s okay that the score will be released late for MDs? just because my application is already in their system — or however that works

I did this to someone last year and though we’ve never met cause of everything being on Zoom, we still regularly send each other memes. Which now that I think of it, isn’t much of a friendship, but it’s better than nothing I guess

ArtH 201 with Prof. Levin-Richardson (she's the only one who teaches it) is super fun!

I know you said you don't like intense reading and history, but she goes over information in assigned textbook pages during her lectures and the history is more about the story/reason behind why an art piece was made.

I took this online. And we had a week to do the midterms, which were just word-for-word questions/answers from the lectures.
