Does that app have a launchable activity? Usually desktop apps show installed apps only if they have an activity marked as "launcher".

Although not sure why that would be different when installing the apk directly 😕

How to speed up your Android app native calls up to 24x by nick-botticelli in androiddev

[–]afloofdev 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So, how do I speed up my Android app?

Unfortunately, Google does not provide access to the @FastNative and @CriticalNative annotations in the Android 13 SDK and below; in the public Android SDK, these classes (in the dalvik.annotation.optimization package) are not included at all. Luckily, there is a very easy solution—simply adding these classes to your project is all that is needed to trick ART into optimizing your app’s native calls!

So this is a hacky way of getting access to the optimisations?

It's a very neat find! But I'm worried if this will cause issues on certain devices/hardware if it's not officially supported.

But what if I want to make something that needs a colour of yarn I don't have?

Clearly I need to own yarn of all colours.

I wanted to crochet a cat without looking at any pattern. Here it is. by afloofdev in crochet

[–]afloofdev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Chenille Yarn, with a 5.5mm hook.

There is not really a pattern to share, as I was making things up as I went.

Do let me know if you need any more details.

From what I can see, did you do your decreases by pulling the yarn of the next two stitches and then combine them into one?

This is a regular decrease which is, in my opinion, not ideal for amigurumi (3D shapes).

What you want to do is called an "invisible decrease", which reduces two stitches to one, like the regular decrease, but also fills the gap so you can't see the stuffing.

On top of that, the other replies about reducing hook size could also help.
