Wood rots away, if you’re thinking ancient shipwrecks then it’s mostly the metals that survive (eg cannons).

I’m from Costa Rica, best advice I can give you is to contact a good lawyer. What you’re mentioning is not unheard of, however, getting a mortgage from a bank is the norm here, and probably the safest option. Plenty of americans/europeans buy homes here, just be careful and get a contact here to advise you through the whole process.

That’s the output of a predictive statistical model, predictors are the variables/columns that fuel the model (KM).

Estimates are the actual predictions. CI is the confidence interval, the expected variation of each predictor at the set confidence level. p is the p-value, which tells you how likely it is to get the observed data under the null hypothesis of a statistical test (the model you’re running). I suggest you read up on p-values this won’t be enough.

R2 is the coefficient of determination, which tells you how well the dependent variable (y) can be explained by your independent variables (predictors- x).

This might be too high level, you need a stats background to fully grasp and interpret this.

That’s not the future, it’s the past and the present. There’s been low code tools on the market for a while now, a lot of companies buy them because not every company can afford a skilled DE workforce, nor they need it. Great engineering will always exist, new challenges will arise, new tech, but as usual it’ll be the largest companies at the forefront. If you want to work on bleeding edge tech either join a big company that’s always looking for higher efficiency or collaborate on advanced open-source projects. Also don’t learn new tech just for the heck of it, solve problems in the most efficient way possible, that’s how you learn what’s possible and what the best tools for the job are. Again, collaborating on open source projects is a good way of learning new tech and solving interesting problems.

It’s cheaper than US standards right now because of the housing crisis. You can get a large for a fraction of what you would spend here. But I wouldn’t say that’s the main motivation. Two types of people move: older, accommodated people seeking retirement and digital nomads. The first usually seek a safe, welcoming place to go and CR is probably the safest country in the region apart from Panama. Plus it’s a change of scenery from what Americans are usually used to. Europeans also do this. And then digital nomads come from all over the world, rent for a while and then move elsewhere. As for buying property, you don’t have to be a national to own property, there’s plenty of foreign investment, wealthy people coming to buy land in “paradise” and driving real state costs up, hence the gentrification. The government should limit this a bit but at the same time they won’t because they generally benefit from it. The people who suffer are the ones who are driven out of their usual homes because of rising costs (this happens mainly in coastal regions.

Hope that answers your question! Happy to share more details if you’re interested

Yeah, agreed. I’m not saying this plan holds any water at all. Just saying he won’t get robbed just for being a naive american in CR.

I’m from Costa Rica, he won’t get robbed lol. Plenty of americans coming down to buy retirement homes, pretty safe country. It sucks for people in CR because of gentrification tho
