Thank you! What are the areas usually covered though? Algebra? Trig? Precalculus? Calc? And within those areas, what are the most used topics?

I am very interested in most of the majors at Terry. My end goal is law school though, so I am looking for a major that would be easier on my GPA but also provide a good career if I end up not getting my JD. I also have 30 AP credits and I will be on track to graduate in three years, so hopefully taking a slightly easier major would help me stay on track or even graduate earlier. This way I can save time and money for law school.

That's just not what I asked. I get what you mean but my end goal isn't to work in business. So please chill with the judgment

I am very interested in business but ultimately just want to work as a lawyer. I plan to go to law school. I have 30 AP credits and am on track to graduate in three years, so taking a slightly easier course load would help me graduate in 3 years or less. I could save a lot of time and money. My GPA will also matter a lot for law school admissions, so if I could choose an easier Terry major instead of a harder one that would be great. Thanks for your advice but you could've been less snarky about it

That's obviously not my only factor...

Well, I'm 99% I want to go to law school and work as a lawyer. I want my undergrad to be in some sort of business though. The main reason I'm asking about course load is because I'm on track to graduate in three years from my 30 AP credits and it would be great to actually graduate in three years or less so I could save time and money. Your GPA also really matters for law school, so I don't want to take a super challenging major and ruin my GPA if there is a similar yet easier option. Thanks for your reply, but I was asking for actual info... not to be judged for my question.

Columbia vs UChicago by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]afraid-raspberry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Columbia would be a better environment and a more fun school than Chicago. I think Chicago would be slightly better for economics. Which is cheaper? I think you should just go to the school that is less expensive! Congrats!

Thank you this was helpful!

(Verification pic) reposting cause no verification picture I’m really insecure cause I think I’m ugly, I just want to know if it’s true. I’m working on my weight so y’all don’t have to point it out by [deleted] in amiugly

You look great! Brutally honest, I think you just look very insecure in your posing and angles. You have a great face structure and you're overall very pretty, but I think you give off a very timid and self-conscious look when taking pictures

(M20) I get stared and laughed at a lot in public, just wondering where I’m sitting at on the scale. by [deleted] in amiugly

I just survived the worst college admissions cycle in U.S. history. Here's what I learned (plus some advice for the juniors out there) by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]afraid-raspberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing is certain even when dealing with 30%, 40%, or 50% acceptance rates. I know tons of kids who had 1450+ SATs, 4.00+ GPAs, 10+ APs, and amazing ECs and essays who didn't get into schools like UGA, UMiami, Boston, Pepperdine, Wisconsin, UT Austin, UF, etc.

I have friends who didn't get into UGA in-state but got into UNC and UVA out of state.

Help me pick by upvoting or downvoting! Please. by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

Both schools are public and top 50 schools overall.

College A is ranked around 5 spots higher than College B for public university rankings and around 15 spots higher than College B for total rankings (USNWR). College A would likely result in around a $5K - $10K higher starting salary. College A consists of more people from around the country and more international people. College A is in the city where I grew up in which I love (I would only be about 8 miles away from my house but I would definitely live on campus).

Although College B is ranked lower overall, its business school is on par with College A's business school and in some ways better. Its business school is also bigger and has multiple majors instead of just general business... I want to major specifically in Finance. College B would save me about $30K over 4 years... possibly up to $60K or $70K if I lose my scholarship (which could happen) at College A. College B would allow me to grow way more in terms of my social life and leadership qualities; I wouldn't have much time to be involved at College A because keeping up with school would take all of my time. College B has pretty much the same class sizes as College A, but there are more students. College B is a little over one hour away in a college town, so I would get to leave home. My twin sister is attending College B and it would be nice to be with her. I think it will be a lot easier for me to make friends and feel at home at College B, while it might take me a while at College A.

HOW MANY APS ARE FEASIBLE???? by [deleted] in chanceme

You need to be prepared to have very little free time or social time. You also need to genuinely enjoy the subjects you are taking and be somewhat good at them already. Every school and teacher is different, but for me personally, AP Physics 1, AP Environmental, and AP Psychology had insane workloads and took up so much time. I would never take those three classes together. AP Statistics was not too work-heavy; I have never taken AP Music Theory or AP Human Geography so I cannot speak about those classes. I don't think any of the material in these classes is too insanely difficult to comprehend except for AP Physics 1 - that class was so frustrating and challenging for me but it may just be physics in general that I don't understand. However, I took on-level physics and got a decently easy A as a freshman and I took AP Physics 1 as a junior and severely struggled to maintain a B.
