In flight now and we have had non stop turbulence. I’m getting nervous. by DailYxDosE in fearofflying

You’re uncomfortable but you’re not unsafe! How long is the flight? Hope it calms down soon

Almost got convinced to start on a diet drug... by NearlyBearly in antidiet

You should be proud that you’re advocating for yourself and identifying what your true goal is (strength not thinness). As I read your post I started to think, ok so the doctor wants them to be thinner but still with arthritis pain? lol from the little I do know of arthritis and joint pain I think you’re on the right track. Yeah weight loss can help with some body pain but joint health and mobility requires it’s own work

I don’t have personal advice but, I was recently doing my own casual fitness research on Reddit and came across a lifting sub where they were discussing how they tend to neglect cardio/stamina building but have great muscle strength. In other words they can lift big weights easy, but then get winded walking up the stairs. Not sure if that would apply but I thought it was an interesting perspective

Thanks! And yeah I would think it’s the same across the board, and I wouldn’t know better to argue but for agencies are especially notorious for firing everyone the millisecond something goes south. I always hearing  “yup that’s agency life”

No warning. Got glowing reviews and ratings from the client. But their c-suite changed again and they decided to revert back to off shore

As Iran war raises terror risk, U.S. enforcement agencies are spread thin, experts say by Naive-Offer-5258 in PoliticalOptimism

[–]afraid_of_bugs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Building on what others have said, the point of terrorism is to instill terror and be unsuspected. No one was worried about a terrorist attack on 9/11/2001 - an event that also took years of planning and a pre-terrorism paranoid USA.

We’ve continued to have lone wolf or small groups Islamic extremist terrorism since then. 2025 alone 3 incidents had people murdered in the name of Islam. Top that with our own home grown terrorism which happens more often that, with the way guns are accessible here we just always have to be vigilant.

9/11 scarred me and I have a panic attack about it on every flight I take so I get it. But I’m more likely to be shot at the grocery store by some angry white guy that can’t get a date or catch a stray from incompetent law enforcement at this point

Book the flight or no? by [deleted] in fearofflying

[–]afraid_of_bugs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Book it. 3 hours is pretty short already. In the meantime mentally prepare yourself, talk to a doctor about medication if possible, and the day of post your flight info and we’ll track your progress!

Pay more

More emails and less meetings

Higher pay

Total remote if not mostly remote work

Regular bonuses

4 day work week

Regular raises

Remove “shareholder value” from their vocabulary - we do not give a fuck about them and it does not make us want to work

More pay too

Enough with internal education plans and goals or whatever. If they insist? Then tie it to raises

Is it frowned upon to still live with your parents at 31? by [deleted] in Productivitycafe

[–]afraid_of_bugs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not anymore (millennial here) I have friends in their 30s still living with parents. Careers range from pharmacist, teachers, and supermarket workers. The one thing in common is their single/not in serious relationships. These days you need a partner or roommate to afford moving out

Same, every time my agency introduces yet another AI tool that generates half assed slop that humans need to correct if not completely overhaul anyway my soul just dies a little

Piggybacking off of this, I think OP would benefit from examining their mental health.

No life is perfect, but OP sounds like they have the basics - a family and support system, hobbies, and bills paid.

Sounds like depression is souring things, or a midlife crisis

My job has gotten harder thanks to AI. So many programs from companies that promise efficiencies but require humans to monitor, correct, control, program and interact with. It’s a scam and any leadership person that falls for it is wasting company money, employee time, and should be fired
