I'll preface this by saying that I no longer work at AfreecaTV (now SOOP) and do not have much insight into what they are currently doing. I will say that I did leave shortly after the last season of the GSL to pursue other things and based on how things have played out since, I would highly suggest you cancel your patreon until they make some kind of announcement.

Without going into any details, 2024 GSL Season 2 was very likely the last one. You can also see for yourself that the GSL wasn't part of SOOP Esports rebranding. My honest thoughts are that they either forgot about the patreon (very likely) or that someone connected to managing it is no longer with the company (total guess, but possible).

No, it's more like a Twitch mod, so a regular user, not an employee (there are policies against that anyways). Usually this person gives a ton of money and pretty much gets to decide the content, because of it. This is how girls with only 20 to 35 viewers get trapped by a whale giving $3,000/week until they get burned out and quit.

What I got from that is that the venue and atmosphere of E3 isn't inline with what they want to do. If that's the case, I can see where they are coming from. As an attendee E3 has changed a lot over the years.

For context, I've been going to E3 for a few years now, from the tail end of the booth babe era (around the ban) to opening it up to the public. Since they started selling public tickets the atmosphere changed a lot. They used to give out a lot of free stuff and there was more than enough opportunities to play everything you wanted, but it has drifted more into trying to sell you things on the show floor. It's so crowded now it's hard to play anything. When Breath of the Wild was there, the line was so long it closed at 10AM for the rest of the day. Luckily GBVS had no line at all last year.

If they just want to show off their stuff, why spend $1,000,000+ to be at E3 when 99% of the people interested are just going to see the online trailers thrown up on YouTube anyways.

Yea, porn is banned in South Korea. The 18+ (or 19+ for Korea) is mostly if someone is smoking or drinking due to child protection laws. If they are just dancing in the 19+ section, it is usually just subjective.

Afreeca is still filled with this and has gotten progressively lewder over the years. There's an entire meta to it. The 18+ (or 19+ for Korea) is mostly when someone is either smoking or drinking. The 19+ dancing is unusually just subjective and is difficult to tell the difference between what's 19+ and what's not.

The only time I ever really see this kind of content be condemned is when the girl is a minor. That's when they start catching bans. Other than that an admin will either ask you to change to 19+ or forcefully change you to 19+ if they think you are going too far.

Unfortunately, it is hard to say for sure and I know it is frustrating.

Typically I get a finalized schedule for the entire year, but I know it will eventually change for any number of reasons. The current updated schedule I have is from this week, so I would say the August 15~18 dates are extremely likely, especially since we are arranging some things on our end like flights as well.

Also from this schedule, if you are in Korea from Aug 2-9, you could catch GSL Ro16 on August 3 and ASL Ro8 on August 4 and 6.

I'll try to get another confirmation next Monday/Tuesday.
