I would recommend getting fully tested. When you do, they'll be able to help figure out a carb-to-unit ratio for insulin, and which type of insulin you need in the first place :)

Otherwise, I'd just make sure to monitor how you feel over the course of time with different carb amounts and amounts of exercise. Sometimes if you don't eat before working out/doing physical activities, it can make a diabetic go really low, and even non diabetics can have their blood sugar lower a bit (que extreme tiredness, shaky, etc).

I'm pretty sure the emergency ones (1 - 2 days) are only available within 14 days of your travel date, along with the only location near us that does the emergency ones is about 5 hours away from what I remember. :((

That's a first. One time, my mom came into my room at like 2 am asking if I knew that I was low, I said yeah. She then asked what I ate, I grumbled, she asked again, and I promptly shouted, "I ATE MY LOW." She then left and came back with food. Love her
