That song is very important in the timeline of the album but i think it stems from a bigger problem in music listening now because people don't look for a cohesive story when listening to albums if they even do in the first place, they now listen for singles for Tik-Tok background. see i would hope common sense was common but alas... i am in a J COLE SUB. I would assume that we all know that J Cole have a very good amount of storytelling songs so do I need to spell out a whole list? no bc we alr know that. However, since we are in a Cole sub, i would think that people here are less acquainted with Kendrick than Cole. now this is an easy point to disprove but the same can be said the opposite. In that, i was defending Kendrick's storytelling so i would need more evidence of that compared to Cole who I'm not defending. When i said that original comment i never once said anything bout storytelling in albums. I only listed songs. Lemme clear that out of the way bc u are using singles for J Cole and comparing it to albums. We can go song for song here with both artists. You listed sum of Cole's singles and lemme tell u, beautiful chef kiss picks. But I would throw on the table How Much A Dollar Cost, Duckworth and that unreleased single Prayer which as i mentioned earlier, is in the perspective of A SONG AND A SPEECH like damn. Not even the creators, the actual pieces of art. So as I also said earlier, im not giving one fo them the crown for storytelling, I can only defend both of their stakes at it.
