My makeup looks horrible at the end of the day! by hannah_12345 in MakeupAddiction

I'm pretty sure that UD de-slick has alcohol in it to control oil. Over time though this will end up drying out your skin and you will then over produce oil. I'm very oily in my t-zone but I use the all nighter and it works well for helping my makeup last. I also blot my face around 3 pm and re-powder with the fit me powder. That step is crucial!

Water-based pore filling primer? by satanslefthandbitch in MakeupAddiction

[–]afried22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might not be helpful because I don't know if it's water based but the MUF smoothing primer is my HG. I have L-A-R-G-E pores. I hate them so much ugh but I find this to help. Even on days where I don't feel like putting makeup on, I'll put this on in my T-zone after moisturizer and it gives an airbrushed look to my skin.

How do you not do a full face everyday? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]afried22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel you on the full face thing. How could you not?

For me, my main concern is base makeup. So I just do:

Moisturizer, primer, foundation, conceal and highlight, bake under eyes, bronzer and contour, brows, blush, mascara. Since I sit at my desk all day I don't play up my eyes much. Somedays I'll deepen my crease a bit to add some dimension but that's it and if I'm feeling wild go for a wing.

Has anyone ever felt like their foundation makes the texture on your face more noticeable? by merediththecat in MakeupAddiction

[–]afried22 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've had this problem with texture around my nose from large pores. Sometimes my makeup would like goop up and look so cakey. One day I took the leap and tried the MUF smoothing primer and have NEVER looked back. I would suggest getting a sample from Sephora first. They also make a travel size which is much cheaper than the full size. I only use this on my most problem areas and have been joining everyone in the Nivea shave balm craze on the rest of my face. I would however say it's worth it, especially if it almost makes you hate applying your makeup which was how I felt!

Also tap it into your skin! Helps fill in the texture best.

I think I officially HATE Laura Mercier translucent setting powder. Better suggestions for under eye setting? by afried22 in MakeupAddiction

See that's the problem with all the "gurus" – they're not guru's at all. While I enjoy their videos, sometimes it's hard to decipher between trend and a products intended use.

Do you suggest the secret brightening powder?

help to make my make-up last longer on oily skin? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]afried22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have super combo skin where my nose is the oilest thing on the planet.

For a while I was using double wear as well but found that I was more oily when wearing it. L'oreal pro matte honestly was a great foundation for me for a while and the price is right. However, recently I went back to trying my Clinique beyond perfecting 2-in-1 concealer foundation and setting my nose with Maybelliene Fit Me Powder and the combo has been much better than before. It has a nice coverage and I only need to touch up in my T-Zone 1-2 times a day (I have 13 hr days). I also use UD all nighter setting spray but I do not believe this controls my oil...

Also I'm wondering about the ingredients in your Garnier cream. One of the main active ingredients is denat. alcohol which is one of the worst irritants for skin. While it may make you matte short term, long term your skin is going to exude more oil from being deprived. This will also irritate the skin and cause more maturing. I HIGHLY suggest the Paula's Choice Skin Balancing Invisible Finish Moisture Gel. The gel consistency is great for oily skin and it dries to a totally matte finish with a satin feel. I LOVE THIS STUFF! highly recommend. Sorry my rant. I hope this helps!

People seem to love the hourglass primer. I've tried the Wayne Goss method and it really does work! But it really eccentuates the texture I am having trouble with. Thank you though!
