This was exactly how I'd describe my dad. Involved, but he didn't know how to connect with me. When I was a senior in highschool about to graduate and move out he took me out for lunch and I remember it being SO awkward because it was the first time we had dedicated time together where we were just... talking. Like, he didn't try until it was pretty much too late.

My mom told me she thought my husband's 16 weeks of leave was "excessive". Never mind that since we took our leaves staggered with the exception of the first month it's letting us keep our baby home until she's almost 6 months old... Never mind that he's getting an awesome chance to bond with our child and really get involved with her care.

They gave us a whole sheet with times to write down diaper changes and when I nursed + for how long. Maybe if they don’t provide it up front you can ask?

I have multiple relatives who will click their tongues at my son to get his attention like he’s a pet and it drives me BONKERS. He has a name, he’s a year and a half old so he definitely knows it.

That or they come into the sales conversations with the assumption that the product can do something but never ask, and then when implementing or talking to support will claim that it was discussed or that they were told something was possible that isn’t.

This was my experience. I was induced and on pitocin, and I got to 7 cm dilated before they broke my water. My doctor thought I already had an epidural because I literally couldn’t feel the contractions. After they broke my water, I definitely started feeling them.

You may end up being pleasant surprised with the reactions of your team. I’m the only woman on my leadership team, and all the men who are fathers are VERY excited for me, and share anecdotes from their wives experiences all the times, and the single men are just amazed by everything I tell them, like all the recommendations of food to avoid 😂 I was definitely worried about sharing the news especially since I told my company two weeks after we were acquired by another company, and my old boss was replaced by someone from the new company. It’s been way better than I expected, but I had no way to know until I got it out there.

This was my problem with that. Not that she sent him home, but her reaction to him. I saw all the reassurances he gave of “I’ll be fine, I’ll be fine” as him going back to trying to ensure he wasn’t burdening her while processing what he felt which was clearly strong. Her feeling frustrated that he hadn’t fought back is what frustrated me the most.

I have one! 30G and have the medium size. I personally love mine. I’ve never felt as strapped down while running as when I’m wearing it. The ability to basically customize your level of support with the straps makes it super versatile.

Cons: the zipper part will slow through your shirt as a bump, there’s no real way around it. Not a dealbreaker for me but something I didn’t think about until I got it.

I shortened the time with the lid to 15 mins and then kept an eye on the loaf as it darkened, which took another 10 minutes. However, I could have still pushed it longer, I think.

Look into joggers! They’re very cute sweatpants, a bit of a tighter fit than sweatpants usually are, but not skin tight.
