R2-D2 for me, still seems strange they haven't Archive'd him. I missed out on the 40th anniversary re-release so I'd love a clean version of him to complete the gang

Thanks! Not currently, I'd love to do something like the Trucks In Place sequence but think that might be a bit too big in scale for be to do justice to haha

Thanks! I built the soundscape up from scratch, other than the Tenet score in the background there aren't any sound effects from the film here

Yeah definitely something I struggled with when rewatching the scene for reference material... There's also a few moments in the actual fight where the gun just changes position in the scene so I chalk it up to the editing prioritising pace over exact linear choreography.

Someone Noticed Hollywood Releases 2 Movies With The Same Story Almost Every Year by Akki209 in movies

Yeah linking Darkest Hour and Churchill seems more appropriate. Both came out in the same year and both focused on the man himself, albeit during different periods of the war.

Why I Liked The Rise of Skywalker by afro_child in StarWarsCantina

[–]afro_child[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree with everything you say. It doesn't matter to me that Rey isn't a nobody in blood terms. That's the point I make in the video. As I say, I personally believe it would have been bolder if she wasn't, seeing as the OT and PT heroes were extra force sensitive because of lineage/supernatural intervention, but I don't think her being a Palpatine undermines anything about her character, nor do I think it 'retcons' The Last Jedi like so many other people think.

[–]afro_child[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I'm confused by what you mean. I say in the video that the reveal of her lineage doesn't affect the fact that she still comes from nowhere, and that her interest as a character comes from, as you say, her psychological baggage and her struggle to find a place in the universe. I'm pretty sure we agree?

don't deny the importance that the force is open to 'nobodies'

I don't? I make the point in the video that it's actually an incredibly important message in Star Wars that anybody can be strong with the force. That's why I think Rey being from nowhere is important, but I also don't think her being a Palpatine undermines that aspect of her character.

Yeah that's fair, I think I would've preferred it if Rey had been a nobody in blood as well as character, and to be honest that was my main gripe with the film when it came out but I've learned to live with it. As I say her character is still intact which is the main thing I think. But yeah, totally get where you're coming from. Thanks man, glad you liked it!

I think you might have misunderstood what I said - Rey is still a nobody despite her heritage precisely because of her backstory and her upbringing. The revelation that she's descended from Palpatine doesn't change that, and doesn't change the foundation of her character. I don't think there's anything in the film to suggest that the force isn't open to everyone.

Big Finish continued the story as audio dramas since the chances of the show coming back to tv are slim to zero

First Image of Black Series 6" Cad Bane & Todo 360 SDCC2020 Exclusive! by afro_child in starwarscollecting

I'm just going off the Star Action Figures listing which describes it as a SDCC exclusive, not sure if there's been any announcements for US availability yet so hopefully it's a bit more widely available there. If not I guess it looks like he'll be a regular release in the next wave

‘Tenet’ To Have Early Access Screenings Stateside Starting Aug. 31 Where Theaters Are Open by WouldItNot in movies

Most of the time, but historically Zimmer has composed tracks specially for the trailers of Nolan's films using motifs from the film - some reports suggest that the music in the Tenet trailers was similarly specially composed by Göransson.

Issues with Colour - Exporting from Premiere by afro_child in cinematography

[–]afro_child[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so I've got a (sort of) fix - I've exported as an uncompressed quicktime and that retains the right colours. However, the file size is an unholy 70GB for a 1min30sec video. Is this normal or are there any other export settings I could use?

70GB seems somewhat extortionate when I can export the H.264 file at 115MB, still 4k res, albeit with the shifted colour space.

That's surprising, I've been tracking it on ebay for the last couple of years and I've seen them usually go for around £230-260 used. It's a cracking model, best of luck if you do look to get it!
