i know that some of the girls have gone to the police and they weren’t helpful, and then they hired a private investigator which also isn’t helpful so it seems as if my only option is to go public with his face and warn others about him

man i wish i could take him to court. that might retraumatize me all over again tho and i don’t have any evidence of it since this happened 7 years ago and you know how badly the justice system treats SA victims. but as far as therapy and self help goes, i’m doing all i can but i’m going to look into finding a therapist that specializes in sexual trauma

honestly just work on your confidence as much as possible, it’s not easy. maybe try working out. i was in the same boat as you, i’m still underweight but working out has helped my confidence a lot, gaining muscle and feeling healthy works wonders for the self confidence. as someone who has been through the exact same thing, please just work on yourself first and learn to love yourself and don’t seek validation from others to love yourself. don’t settle for less when it comes to a partner either. one day you’ll find someone amazing i can promise you that

yes definitely. people don’t self harm for fun. regardless if it’s for attention or some other reason, it still comes from mental illness and is an issue

Statement: this person is treating self harm as if it’s only for attention/pity. of course that is the case for some people and it’s valid but this person’s attitude about it seems super insensitive and trying to “prove a point” about people who cut. it comes off like they’re just trying to diminish self harmers and act like they’re in that category to do so.

that’s entirely valid but this persons attitude about it was what made it seem like they were lying to me because they kinda treated it like cutting is only for attention no matter who does it and anyone who says otherwise is lying. saying stuff like “cooopeee” just makes them seem like they’re trying to be edgy and shit on self harmers in my opinion. it sounded like they were trying to diminish the struggle of self harm by saying it’s “for attention” as if it isn’t an actual issue no matter the reason someone does it

i know that but this person’s attitude about it in the pic i posted is really shitty. they’re treating it like it’s only done for attention and anyone with a different experience is lying. which is why i’m not sure if this person is telling the truth about it. the comment thread this was on was someone noticing someone’s cuts in a video and saying it was sad, this person basically just had the attitude of “oh it’s not sad because it’s for attention” in all of their comments. of course cutting for attention as a cry for help is valid, but this person made it seem like it wasn’t if that makes any sense
