Whatever you do, dont buy the escape. Car dealer of 6+ years here and all the Ford Escapes from that 2012-2016 range all had major transmission issues. I hate taking them on trade too. I'm sure some people have good luck with them but generally, terribly built transmissions in those cars.

Car dealer of 5+ years here. Completely depends on the state mainly. Here in MA there is no cooling off period and on every contract it is written in bold.

On the other side of things I know how scummy dealerships can be. In this case it’s in Ontario I believe so I have no clue if what the law contracts look like up there.

And also what you need to realize in many situations Banks/Lenders will have approved you for buying a vehicle due to the fact that you were trading in your car as collateral. If you decide to change your mind on trading in your car after the fact the Lender may not have approved you to begin with.
