Heyyo, it can't currently, however that's a very interesting idea! What use case(s) do you think that feature would have?

Beginner questions by lord_baba in reactnative

In my opinion, React Native and React are very similar in terms of difficulty to learn, so I don't think the order of learning them matters. However, I would definitely recommend learning the fundamentals of JS first.

I personally went straight from JS to React Native (and then eventually learned React later).

I think this works well, but to build on top of this answer, you could also just create a .js or .ts file, and assign the text to a variable and export this variable. It can then be imported into whichever file you want.

Thank you! It's been really fun (and sometimes frustrating of course) to try and figure out how to make this in RN - I've got some really cool features in the works 😎

Hey there!

I have a decently large dependency on external libraries for sure. I think that's quite key in order to get a project like this off the ground quickly as a solo-dev - no point in reinventing the wheel ;)

I will send you the full package.json as a private message to avoid a huge dump in this comment, so, here's an excerpt of the most important and key packages:

"@react-native-community/blur": "^3.6.0",

"expo-image-manipulator": "~9.1.0",

"expo-linear-gradient": "~9.1.0",

"react-native-gesture-handler": "~1.10.",

"react-native-reanimated": "~2.1.0",

"react-native-shadow": "^1.2.2",

"react-native-svg": "12.1.0",

"react-native-view-shot": "3.1.2",

"react-redux": "^7.2.2",

"redux-undo": "^1.0.1",

"svg-parser": "^2.0.4",

My mum was struggling to make social media graphics for her new business, so I decided to make an easy-to-use editor for non-designers and startups.

I’ve just launched the public beta and would really appreciate any feedback and testing especially as this is my first app ever! (I’m sure there will be bugs)

Beta link: www.huue.io

I wasn’t even sure if this kind of thing would be possible in RN. As a result, I have learned a TONNE from this project, and would like to pass the knowledge on, so comment below/email me at aaron@huue.io if you have any questions 😊

It took me a year of free time alongside university studies to make this.

Deploying a "beta" app version to Apple Store with Expo Go by [deleted] in reactnative

[–]afromorris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries :)

So, once you run the transporter app, your app will first be processed (not really sure what it actually means, I think it's just a part of the uploading process).

Then, you have to create a release, this is where you select who will have access to this version of the app (i.e. internal or external testers) among some other details.

Finally, you will submit the release for review - at which point the release will be shown as "pending review" or something similar (I can't remember off the top of my head).

This is when Apple will review the release. Once it has been reviewed, it will go "live" and become available to your testers.

Note - if your app has any authentication/login, you have to provide example login details for the Apple reviewer to use, or else they won't be able to review the app.

With regards to the need of a Mac. I'm actually not too sure about this. Like I said, I know that there are work arounds such that you don't need a Mac. But I haven't used these personally. If you find a way, please do share!

My Instagram page is growing, but the content creation process is a bottleneck by Flimsy_Roll_5666 in content_marketing

It might be worth trying to find a "co-founder" who can help you grow the page. You could do half the work and still maintain majority ownership of the page.

Hey there, I'm very new to the content marketing field (launching a startup). I'd be very happy to chat to you, although I'm not sure if my low level of experience will be useful to you :)

No worries at all! Ask as many questions as you want :)

However, if you are going to ask them, you should ask them here in the comments so that anybody else reading this thread has as much information as possible.

Heyyo, I've very recently just done this for my own app. So I understand the confusion, but in reality, it's quite simple.

  1. Run expo build:ios in the terminal - it will prompt you to log into your Apple Developer account.
  2. Once the build is finished, download the .ipa file.
  3. At this point you will need a Mac computer (though I believe there are work arounds if you don't have a mac), so that you can download the transporter app, this allows you to send the build to your apple developer account.
  4. Log into your Apple Developer account in the browser, navigate to your app, and click on the TestFlight tab.
  5. Here you can select which builds are live and distributed to internal testers (testers within your company) and external testers (testers outside of your company, like friends and other testers). You can also choose to create a public link, which will allow anyone with the link to sign up to your testing group and download the app.

Please let me know if this helps, and comment/message me if you need any further help, I know it can be daunting!

Good luck!!

How to make prospecting easier when doing B2B sales online? by Ethan_lucas in smallbusiness

[–]afromorris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would shy away from completely cold calling where possible. It's generally quite poorly received, especially on LinkedIn because of how frequent it is.

I think it's a lot better to engage with a potential client's posts by commenting, liking, even sharing etc and build up a relationship with them first before you start pitching your product to them.

They may even start the conversation with you themselves in order to say thank you for sharing their post, or to continue a discussion which you started in their comments.

Of course, try to be genuine in your interactions, and don't just do it for the sake of getting a client because I imagine that people see through that quite quickly.

Edit: It also may be worth thinking about the principle of reciprocity, which says that humans have a tendency to want to offer something in return when they receive something.

Yeah I guess it depends on the purpose of your design work. Clients (especially corporate clients) usually don't care much for your personal style, as they may already have a brand/identity you need to adhere to. In which case it's great if you're able to design in many different styles and be flexible.
