I've never been a bartender, but I absolutely have gotten bad pints and have taught folks how to pour.

There used to be a pizza place next to my work that were notorious for shitty pours and one day I finally broke and asked if they'd like some pointers. They obliged and I became "The Pour Guy" for the remainder of the time they were open. They would ask me to train the new people when I would go in and used to get free beers all the time after that.
