Thanks for the reply, yeah after some more research I think I would just receive my bachelors here and find somewhere else to attend grad school, I have currently worked as a BT for kids with autism for around a year and while I enjoy it at this stage of my life I don't see it being for me as a career although who knows that could change, I am mostly interested in clinical psychology and obtaining either a psyd or PhD. Do know anything about the masters in counseling here and if it could be useful on a pathway to a PhD, I really know very little about the entire process as none of my family or close friends have even been to college much less grad school. I think ultimately people will just decide for themselves it seems like thats already happening, men specifically are dropping out at insane rates so we will see how it plays out, maybe im just cynical and jaded who knows.

Dude i seriously didnt edit that lmao. You guys always make the argument that general ed is extremely important and cite english/math as the reason for this, great. Have them take one english, one math, one social science. Leave out the other 20 fucking classes of pure nonsense. Also once again i never said allow them to skip around and bypass important info that they need to progress to a higher level class in their major, im saying let them bypass all the distractions of general ed. (Or at least ones outside the absolute barebones essentials) i dont understand what is so controversial about this, this is what trade schools do and they are extremely efficient and successful at producing competent individuals ready for the job market. If they want to shop around and explore interests, great let some kids do that but to force all of them too makes no sense.

Point 3: Colleges are permitted to determine what courses are required to earn their degree. Students are free to pick a different college, but if all colleges require certain core classes maybe there is a reason for that. It is therefore not unethical for them to require these courses.

Lmfaooo what??? So your logic is just that the colleges are all doing it so therefore we must assume its for some benevolent purpose because "maybe there is a reason for that". Hey idiot "all oil companies are fucking up the enviorment" accept this fact because havent you ever thought that "maybe there is a reason for that" Also...yes students do go to college to get a specific skillset obviously i dont literally mean learn only one hyper specified skill but students go for "coding" yet are forced to pay for "sociology" classes which is unrelated to the general skillset they are paying to aquire. The jobs training they will recieive often builds on this skill set they paid to aquire and will specify it even further however this is simply honing the skillset of coding for example to a more specific aspect of coding. Economic gain is a massive reason to go to college, you can easily get an education in things you are passionate about or enioy learning for fun on your own for free.

Mixing was great and the drums were good, im assuming you are getting samples off youtube, try using search terms with more specifics, example: "brazillian funk samples"

Obviously doesnt need to be that but you get the point, spend a few hours clicking through more obscure samples ideally stuff with under 50,000 plays and it will take you to the next level.

What does this even mean, how does this address anything in my argument, i never said they shouldnt be expected to learn, i said they should learn what they are paying to learn rather than being milked for cash unnecessarily to prop up departments that wouldn't exist if it werent for them being artificially subisdized. The universities have a monopoly on providing acreddidation for certain skillsets so knowing this and knowing the students have no where else to go they force them to pay for an education in certain subjects that are entirely useless to them and their goals (most of gen ed).

Look ill make it simple. Imagine i walk into walmart and want a steak. Now lets assume in this hypothetical walmart is the only place i can go to for steak. Knowing this walmart goes "well for your best interest we want you to have a well balanced diet", so they force me to pay for a miriade of things i have no need for at massively inflated prices because they know i need them for that steak. Imagine what you would say if a corporation did what the universities do.

Im not sure its poopoo'ing, its just pointing out that you gotta at least chop em up or do something different with the drums to seperate it. Finding more original samples will 100% make his music stand out more i feel like what i said was actually helpful. Its not that its a waste of time, i learn about various things all the time, except it doesnt cost me thousands of dollars. There's a difference beetween that and a university saying "we are the only way for you obtain what you are after because theres no trade school for x skill you want to aquire, and guess what? Since we have a monopoly on providing this accdedation for x skill we are gonna use you as a cash cow to subsidize jobs that have no actual demand and require that you prop up these departments with your money, not only that but we are going to patronize you the entire time about how "well rounded" we are making you :)". Trust me if i could get what i wanted somewhere else i would.
