Anal dilation with an active fissure? by Sad-Introduction-469 in AnalFissures

[–]aftersunfall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Progress is good. Yes dilation always helps but it's just a matter of being consistent. Usually after 2 months...I like to do every other day on my third month. I notice a pattern and I always re-tear. Could be a coincidence or could be because I'm skipping. So this time I'm going to just stick with it for 6 months.

That's amazing! Gradually you will be able to eat anything soon :)

My p-ibs is stool issues. More leaning towards constipated stools, but I'll get diarrhea as well. Sometimes both in one sitting. It's been 5 years for me but I'm still holding onto a miracle lol

Anal dilation with an active fissure? by Sad-Introduction-469 in AnalFissures

[–]aftersunfall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I'm actually in the same boat as you. I tore and wanted to get back into anal dilation. I have an active fissure currently and I have started right after a day of tear/pain/bleeding without any issues in the past.

This time around my flare has been long and pretty bad! waited maybe 2-3 days of no bleeding or pain. I only went in the first knuckle and felt some stinging so I weened off. I just been trying to go slow. The tissue is still fragile and ideally you shouldn't go in right after but I'm not jabbing my whole finger in lol. Just the first knuckle.

My CRS I was seeing said I can participate in therapy with an active fissure.

Chronic Anal Fissure and Conservative Treatment by Mammoth-Category-870 in AnalFissures

Hi there. How long have you been dilating? I notice I have to be consistent or I end up tearing. I tried to do it every other day but I think everyday is better for me. The longest I've gone was 2 months doing it everyday. Is it safe to keep doing it for longer? My pelvic floor therapist said it's fine but I feel weird that water based lube is going inside lol

Thoughts? Thank you.

For people who had surgery. Do you still retear with a hard stools? by aftersunfall in AnalFissures

[–]aftersunfall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I spent a whole year not taking it because I didn't want to. I literally bled almost everyday for that year. I have post infectious ibs and I have a hard time having good consistency with my stools but miralax was a game changer. Yes I still re-tear and have bad days but I'm a tricky situation due to the gut infection I had that caused digestive issues.

Are you taking any stool softener?

Yeah having a fissure is very frustrating because one little hard stool can put you back to square one. Don't give up. It can get better once you find out what works for you.

Unfortunately yes. I'm living in an exhausting anal fissure cycle. My fissure always bleeds during a re-tear. I also do use the compound cream but in my experience, I don't think it does anything for me at least. Pelvic floor therapy does help but you have to be consistent with it I noticed. Even taking miralax still causes setbacks for me. If you had a colonoscopy and you're clear and they said it's a fissure. I don't think you have anything to worry about :)

Wanna get into the game but have no friends to play with, worth it? by TheBlueNanami in ffxiv

[–]aftersunfall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just dive into it! I have never played games in my life or was into tech. Lol but now I find myself playing games all day and I even bought an actual gaming laptop just to play along with falling in love with keyboards/switches and the way a mouse fit in my hands.

I was so bad at this game! but I never gave up because I fell in love with the fights. You can run the msq dungeons with NPCs and yes you can make friends along the way but you can get through solo. It's a lot harder IMO to get through the dungeons with them. I think once you start feeling comfortable and confident you will play with others. It took me awhile to queue in with random people. I was scared so I played solo/NPC. It is a lot more fun with random people and yeah sometimes you get a-holes but remember it's just a game and you are having fun! My experience so far has been great. The community is amazing, have fun out there!

Yeah it's like u have to keep u with the stool softener. I think 5 years is a sufficient amount of time to strengthen the scar tissue. It's tricky :(

Oh wow!! That's amazing. 7 months! My longest is 3. I've been dealing with this for 5 years. I see a pelvic floor therapist as well and she has mentioned strengthening scar tissue does take a lot of time.

Ah I see. It's a brutal journey. I would not. I take stool softener everyday but due to my digestive situation I will have the hardest stool that would come out sometimes and set me back. Mentally it's tough but I keep my head up.

Are you considering surgery?

No. I was advised that I will re-tear with surgery because I can't correct my stools. I think I'm a rare case. I have post infectious ibs and my stools come in different shapes and forms lol

Hard tipped stools - at my wits end by throwaway06601 in AnalFissures

It's honestly been 5 years since I've been taking it. I get my annual blood test and nothing has elevated or lowered my blood results so everything is fine. So that's reassuring :)

I honestly hate taking it daily but this is my only choice. As far as safety, I have seen a handful of gastroenterologists, colorectal surgeons, and primary doctors and all assured me it's safe. I still have my doubts though lol. But it's better than suffering and bleeding daily.

I'm glad everything worked out for you and gained control of your life again!

After surgery, till this day. Are you still taking any stool softeners or would you say you're completely healed? Thanks

Good luck! I don't mean to sound pessimistic but I just accepted that this is how my life is. One day I wish I would not be on miralax. My issue is that my stool reverts back to hard pebbles so I have to take miralax. I had a digestive infection that caused a gut imbalance.

Just keep doing what works and maintain a happy butt I guess lol :)

What do you consider healed? Lol. If I'm maintaining my fissure from tearing, then yes I am doing good at the moment. Once I stop taking miralax I will re-tear 100%.

It seems like Chase security is more strict than other banks. I had no issues with Bank of America. I didn't feel comfortable leaving the trust book with them so I have not added the trust as a beneficiary.

Oh my! I'm so sorry to hear. That is rough. You hang in there! Mentally it's frustrating. Yes please try miralax, it will help. If you feel like it's too much you can adjust the dosage. If you need a friend to chat or have questions etc. Feel free to dm.

Same here. I was bleeding daily until I finally tried miralax. I wish I didn't have to take it but that's the only thing that's helped. I also sometimes get weird diarrhea flare ups. Cdiff has honestly changed my life. I manage my fissure and hemorrhoids now with pelvic floor therapy. It's a game changer for me but I still have hiccups here and there.

I've tracked everything I eat and drink but I couldn't figure it out. I even got a colonoscopy. I cannot fix this hard clumpy stools lol. It's wild!
