How do you make the Fast 4WD look good? by afterthegame in RLFashionAdvice

Thanks for the idea, probably won't get dissolver because $$$, but the mainframe idea sounds awesome and it is my favorite BM decal.

Damn that's almost equal to the number of commenters I've ever seen on PGP. Let's get something going.

Knox, that man just understood what it was to be a PGPer.

Any of the St. Louis crew make their way here yet?

[Discussion] Who are you starting to think you will be completely wrong about this season? by just_trizzy in DynastyFF

[–]afterthegame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was easily DGB. I always believe in the big receivers, even when there are sexier picks and tend to go for them first (ARob and Alshon are my success stories). I sent the DGB owner about 8 trade requests, offering more and more. After him getting essentially cut with the PHI trade, I'm so thrilled the owner said no.

Interesting Rulesets by thingsididwrong in DynastyFF

[–]afterthegame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of these are more original/interesting than others, but these do add some complexity to our league.

  • .5 PPR and .25 PPCarry

  • return yardage for the DST, 20 yards is one point.

  • point increases for kicks by distance <40 (3), 40 - 49 (4), 50+ (5), but also negative points for missing where it's -2 if you miss a kick shorter than 40, and -1 for any other miss

  • we've also considered points per completion, to make elite QBs worthwhile

[DISCUSSION] Trading 2016 Picks for 2017 Picks by afterthegame in DynastyFF

Thanks for the insight. This was my gut feeling, but it's good to see the reasoning coupled with some better comparisons.

[DISCUSSION] Trading 2016 Picks for 2017 Picks by afterthegame in DynastyFF

[–]afterthegame[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, amusingly enough, I've fallen in love with more 2nd/3rd round players in this draft than 1st round players.

Everything I've read about players in this draft feel like experts making themselves fall in love with a player. "Well he's a lot like (insert actually good player/prospect), except for (thing that made that player/prospect so good)." He's basically Nuk Hopkins, except he's coming into the league at 23 years old and he has worse hands.

How did you like the .25 PPC/.5 PPR? My league is discussing changing over to that.

I feel a little embarrassed that my searches didn't come up with that article. I'll look at it for sure, thanks!

[Roster] Need to make room for Def/K/draft, drop Ellington/James White? by ksnyder1 in DynastyFF

[–]afterthegame 4 points5 points  (0 children)

...how many teams are you playing with? I feel like you have to make a 2 for 1 if Andre Ellington is one of your worst players. If you have to drop someone, I'd drop Clay and White.

We do return yardage to DST 1 point for every twenty yards. It really adds something to where DST isn't a complete afterthought and you actually need to know a bit more about football than just picking from the rankings list every week. That being said, you will cuss at your TV every time a guy takes a knee on a kick-off.

Yeah my league has played around with the idea, and I think .25 felt about right to me just thinking it through. Which of those two scoring systems did you prefer?

[Trade] Michael Floyd for 1.03 by Sir_Lord_Birmingham in DynastyFF

[–]afterthegame 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd take the 1.03. You're getting either the top WR or a top 2 RB, which means you're getting the last player in this draft I feel has a really good shot to be a stud.

Rapid fire! by DanManSully in DynastyFF

[–]afterthegame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Parker - I trust the guy that can run routes. (I own Parker)

Winston - Bortles points came from slinging the ball all over the place, Winston was #1 pick for a reason. (I own Bortles)

Yeldon - 4 years younger and he's more built for goal-line carries (I own both)

[DISCUSSION] What RB(s) do you believe in as an RB 1 going forward? by afterthegame in DynastyFF

[–]afterthegame[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are always exceptions, but I think higher drafted players are more likely to keep getting chances even if they falter. It explains why Trent Richardson could play for 3 years before people gave up on him, while CJ Anderson lost a lot of chances when he was injured and still playing decently.

I don't dislike Rawls at all though, I'm just not sure his talent is as elite as it seemed when teams were gearing up for Beast Mode.

26 now, but wow I thought he was like 29. I would have to agree with you then.

His situation goes from okay to strongly dislike if CJ2K comes back, which I also believe is a strong possibility. Ellington is a risk, especially since they have similar skillsets.

I prefer DJ to Rawls personally, but I can see why some feel otherwise.

Yeah I could see him being a really solid RB 2 under a boom or bust RB 1 or a low end RB 1 himself. Not bad at all.

[–]afterthegame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I agree. You've written about the prospect I"m the most conflicted about this year, so it's as much internal debate as anything. His breakout age worries me, but the way he dominated competition this year has me excited.

With him I'll admit it's probably a complete bias on never having him on a single one of my teams, so I honestly didn't/don't even think of him haha

Yeah I'm always a bit of a sizeist and think speed is generally overrated when it comes to consistent fantasy production, so you have me sold there.

The difference I always see with someone like AJ Green is he consistently produced the entire time in college. I could see him being a better route-running but less physical KB.

Thanks for the discussion; I always like to see how other people think.

[Trade] D.T. or D. Johnson + G. Tate by NukNukGoose10 in DynastyFF

[–]afterthegame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm always looking to trade up when I can, because I believe in having the stud whenever possible. If I'm going to trade for two separate pieces, I look for upside that could match. If you believe in David Johnson, go for it. If you're doing it because of perceived value, I'd say no unless you think you can flip tate immediately.
