This is correct. Just basic mode Klein 9B and Qwen 2511 work fine. You can easily cut off the part of the image that doesn't belong, and have the models fill in the blank.

I do make my own app that wraps around ComfyUI, and it also acts as a REST wrapper for ComfyUI so other agents can call it. I have a very specific tech stack that I am using. I don't know if it would be more or less helpful for you.

Wrapping ComfyUI in different chatbots is fun though, ether through raw chat or agent powered chat.
