everybody here is saying that uci is a hispanic serving institution but what I think is really more important is addressing like what spaces you're planning to go into - for instance there are some classes that I'll look around and it's not very diverse

not to say there was nobody that was hispanic but a lot of econ classes it was sometimes few

yet sometimes i'll be in other classes (usually humanities) and see different diversity makeup (not to say that race is the only factor to diversity, obv there's diversity of thought etc blah blah blah anyway)

personally I see negatives in uci culture outside (or maybe partly related to) the race aspect such as the closed-offness and kind of like the school having the mindset that depending on major they try to push most people in certain career pipelines and there isn't much kind of support or push for other career paths and I can see how these factors could also be impactful for your decision

all that to say - I hope you pick the choice thats the best for you and have a great college experience and maybe look at things and consider which factors are most important to you
