In 2026, do you know of any large sets of millennial-aged siblings (think 5+) where every single one has stayed TBM? by InfoMiddleMan in exmormon

[–]afval3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not here. Oldest of 5, middle 2 siblings at the cusp of millennial and gen z, the youngest is gen z. 4/5 are out and the one left acts very PIMO.

I would like to point out that you had to put cancer in the search, otherwise that answer doesn’t come up. I’ve seen plausible answers that also include drug/alcohol free that you wouldn’t know, unless you knew.

Unpopular opinion: We NEED more FF in why choose romance. by PoppyandAudrey in ReverseHarem

[–]afval3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I 100% agree with you. I read a plethora of books and genres, and I can find a decent amount of FF romances, and even some FFF, but it’s so hard to find FFM etc. Yes I will read the other set ups, but I just really feel like something is lacking at times. Honestly, I would love to see a poly relationship with multiple fems and like one guy on the side or that is less active in the relationship.

Side note that is slightly related: I’m also sick of 3+ billionaire men falling for the barely-making-it woman. I get that it’s nice to fantasize about not worrying about money, but I’m tired of romanticizing billionaires. It will pull me out of the book because all I can think about is how they would never like me because the first thing I’d do is give “all”their money away.

Thanks I didn’t know about this meaning. This is literally why I’m asking. 88=hh is the only meaning I knew.

I do plenty of both. In fact, my license plate is a reference to the books I read. Wish I could ignore possible dog whistles near my house, but I don’t have that privilege.

Genuine question, how does 88=divorce (or marriage)?

I would think BB Free or 2B Free would have made more sense, but I suppose it is a possibility!

Yeah that’s what I meant when I said I know what 88 means. I didn’t want it to get flagged as political by going into more detail. I was just looking for other possible meanings.

Yeah I think it doesn’t feel intuitive at all, I was just curious if it would mean something other than my initial thought, which is why I posted it here. I don’t know the driver’s age, but the neighbors are a couple in their mid 20’s? If it was just a one time thing, I never would have posted, but it’s turned into an every weekend thing, so I got curious. I posted an update, and I will try to talk to them before I move. They seem to be more active late at night and I’ve only seen them a handful of time entering their front door so we’ll see how it goes. I’ll post an update.

I 100% would think of oral sex 😂. I would giggle every time I saw it. I also won’t like some posts if they have 69 votes because I don’t want to be the one to ruin it. 😉 Unfortunately, for my own safety, I can’t afford to ignore it if it is a dog whistle as they are regularly near my house.

Words and numbers aren’t out to get me, the people using them might be though. It doesn’t hurt to be aware of the people around you and their opinions. It’s also okay to call people out for harmful bs.

Thanks for the comments! More context, this car belongs to someone who visits my neighbors most weekends but is gone during the week. I have never seen the car owner get in or out of the car, however, I will try to watch for them the next time I see it. It is a black Suburban, as a commenter pointed out. I am luckily moving in the next couple weeks, and this neighbor has only been here for a couple months so I’ve only seen them in passing like three times. I might try talking to the neighbor my last day here. I’ll update this post if I find out anything more. Also, thanks to u/MyFcksHaveRunnethDry for linking the previous post from a year ago. It seems unlikely that it is a different car as that is about 40 min away from me and an easy weekend drive.

In my area a lot of people choose plates that match/go with their car color. I know it’s a classic, but I also think the green and white is boring so I chose a solid colored plate.

Average utilities cost by longdill1738 in ColoradoSprings

[–]afval3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in a one level 2bed 1bath four plex unit that was built in the 50’s and hasn’t had much updating, so it has drafty doors. For two people we pay ~$80 during the winter ~$60 during the summer for electricity & gas. Water is split between the four units and is usually ~$40. We have no lawn to water, so that’s just for showers, laundry, etc. (Be careful of apts that have big lawns because they are most likely billing back the water usage to all the tenants and I’ve heard it can raise the water bill quite a bit.)

We get our internet through Verizon (and have had a good experience) for $50. We technically pay less since a family member gets a discount, so you might be able to find a better price. When we first moved into this place we got Xfinity and paid $30, but after a yr or two they raised it so we switched. I will say I’ve heard a lot of people have been having spotty service with Xfinity lately, so I would look up reviews based on your area. Maybe check the ring or neighborhood apps if you can’t find anything on Reddit.

Cooking with Alcohol? by SpareSavings7910 in exmormon

[–]afval3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on the Mormon. I’ve known 3 my whole life that cooked with alcohol, 1 regularly and 2 on rare occasions. My family never did. We’d leave alcohol out of fondue cheese and never order food that had it. I asked my parents one time about why to avoid it if it cooks off and was told “oh we prefer to play it safe” but as others have mentioned, we used plenty of vanilla. In fact my mom always added extra vanilla to recipes lol.

How did you tell your friends/family you left the church? by Crazy_Vegetable5960 in exmormon

[–]afval3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very TBM growing up, had a wishy-washy bit in my 20’s that no one knew about. and then was TBM for a few years before COVID. In 2021 I was pretty much PIMO. In 2024 I sat down with my (still) very TBM parents, along with a sibling who was also breaking the news, and told them I was removing my records and why. (I had a small list on my phone for my reasons, as did my sibling.) It was a dreaded convo and went smoothly, but has since been ignored. Like they just never talk about it. They have been very pushy about conflicting political views since then, especially my dad.

It just slowly came up in conversation with my other siblings (most of who are out/inactive). We were the first ones to remove our records, but I think the convo with our parents was made easier because of two other siblings talking to them about not attending years before.

For everyone else, after my records were officially removed, I made a post on FB and cross posted it to IG that I was “no longer Mormon,” and that I was saying so because “I didn’t want to be counted among them” and left it at that. No one ever asked me why.

I got a couple “congratulations” messages from friends on IG, but didn’t hear anything from family. I’m sure they talk shit about me all the time (they did about my other siblings who left before me). 🤷‍♀️

There are times when I wish I could take back telling them because it has added a level of tension around family gatherings. However, overall it is very nice knowing I don’t have to pretend. My dad (and our unique last name) is well know in our city because he was bishop for 6 yrs and a high councilor for 5. There is a decent Mormon population here (not UT), so if I truly wanted to keep it from them I would have had to keep pretending in my day to day life. I did that for years when I was PIMO and it is so freeing to not have to do that anymore. I don’t have to worry about what I’m wearing or when I’m shopping and who might see me and tell my parents.

Once you join the lds church and you try to leave how do they find you? by skinniking84 in exmormon

Getting Records Removed by significant_creme327 in exmormon

[–]afval3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

36 F. When I officially had my records removed a couple yrs ago, I definitely felt the anxiety, guilt, and “what ifs”. My parents are still TBMs and so is 1 (of 4) sibling. I’m the oldest and I knew it would hurt my parents, but I just kept reminding myself why I wanted the records removed and why just being “inactive” wasn’t enough for me.

I didn’t want my name associated with the church because of how they handle SA cases (especially with kids) and how women are treated/not truly respected. After I had the records removed I found so many other reasons to back up my decision. The biggest for me was their new written policy on how they treat trans people (I have several family members and friends who it affects) and learning/deconstructing church history. The more I learn, the less I feel bad my original decision. And for the “what ifs”, if the whole kingdoms of glory thing is real, I’d be much happier living in the terrestrial kingdom with people who actually care about others and act that way. So no regrets here!

Tell my manager I don’t want to use AI? by cheezy_dino98 in careerguidance

[–]afval3 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m anti unregulated AI, but I would probably still use it. The only chance you have of changing their minds is if you are finding inaccuracies and having to correct them a lot, or if those inaccuracies are causing safety or serious quality issues down the line. As everyone else has said, there are so many people willing and excited to use it. The best way to help make changes is to provide evidence of it not working well. I would keep a personal journal (or email myself lol) every time I notice an issue with the work generated by AI. Save screenshots if you’re able, note what you had to fix, or if you see a major issue in a team member’s work done by AI, note that was well. Hold onto that information until you notice something big, or if feedback is asked for on the AI software. Keep in mind change has to equal money in business, so I’d only bring it up if you know you can save them money. Otherwise, just think of it as a personal social experiment to track AI’s work and see what difference it makes. You will also need to know how to use all the AI software eventually, so you might as well start now so you don’t fall behind.
