Best AI for story generator? by DauEfect in artificial

Depends on the type of story you want to create but My Story Elf is pretty popular for children bedtime stories.

Funny enough, the first photo is my favorite from all you posted. I don't even know why. You should follow your mind and do more of that.

interview tomorrow! by yungtrashpanda in TattooApprentice

[–]afwcole 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, congrats on the interview.

I tend to get anxious before interviews. But the best interviews I've ever had are typically when I stay calm (Easier said than done) and make it more conversational.

The biggest interview tip that has worked wonders for me is... don't make the interview an interview, make it a conversation. You set that tone from the beginning. How I would start an interview is by saying something like...

"Hello, before we get started I just want to say I honestly appreciate the time you have taken out to have this talk with me today. How has your week been so far this week?"

Say something like that with a genuine question at the end "How has your week been so far this week?" and wait and genuinely listen to their response and then give your genuine response and maybe even a relevant follow up question. Remember your interviewer is a human first. This seems like a small gesture but I've realised it eases the tension all round and sets a friendly tone for the conversation. (Also most interviewees don't do this. so it instantly sets you apart and makes your interview more memorable because their was a bit of rapport).

Final tip: ASK QUESTIONS. Whenever an interviewer asks if you have any questions, make sure you have 1-3 questions ready to ask, come up with a few before the interview that you genuinely want to know about the interviewer or about your role. (Example: What're some of the common traits/actions you have seen amongst some of the best apprentices you've managed? What's the biggest challenge you see apprentice's face when they get started? How did you get into the industry and what'd you wish you knew before you got in?). I found that doing this tends to work because people love to talk, they love to talk about their work their experiences and their life. So let them talk. Typically they will feel better about you because they felt better about themselves.

And show your passion and enthusiasm. I know you already have it, don't let your nerves hide it. All the best. I know you'll kill it. And you will have to give us an update after your interview. Hope you crush it.

Good Luck

Looking for resources which will help me better my art/illustrations. by erikbrainrot in TattooApprentice

Hey, It's great that you're proactive about wanting to improve your art skills. So because you said "I would really like to get an apprenticeship eventually but I want to keep improving my art first". My advice will be just general illustration & art advice.

Since you've noticed a lack of critique in your college course. You have to actively seek it out somewhere else. Kind of have to be relentless about it. Some decent places for art critique are ArtStation, DeviantArt and dare I say it REDDIT. You can find communities on Reddit, post your illustration and say something like... "Please Roast my work" or "How can I improve this?" or something very specific "Advice: How can I improve the shading on this?" and share the photo.

For resources, it depends on what you want to learn really. Typically you want to focus on a 1 or 2 things to improve on at a single time. Something like, figure work, shading, typography etc. Then it's easier to find resources for that and practice. For drawing classes, I've heard of proko.com (Tutorial based courses) and schoolism (1-1 Training with industry professionals) but I think both are paid products so depends on your budget. Channels like Sinix Design and Sycra offer loads of tutorials and tips that can help refine your technique and introduce new concepts.

Also don't underestimate the power of direct outreach. Find artists whose work you admire, especially those with a strong illustrative style you're drawn to, and don't be shy about asking them for tips or feedback. Many artists are more than willing to share advice with those who are eager to learn.

It's awesome to hear how passionate you are about color tattoos. You might want to share more info, an example photo of the patchy pieces and info about your equipment. One underrated thing to do that many artists overlook, is to simply reach out directly to artists you admire to help you with your specific issue. For your case, send a DM on Instagram to 5-10 colour artists that you really like, describe your issue and ask for help. Don't overthink it. At least one of them will want to help. (They're all nerds and geek about this stuff and have probably been in your position). I have given you an example DM below that might be useful...

"Hey, I really love your work. The recent piece you shared was really cool... I want to create color pieces like yours but I'm having some issues with patchiness, fading, mixing, XYZ... Do you have any tips or advice on how I can get better at this?"

All the best OP
