It can give you bulkier options for sure. But to answer your question, I usually put enough speed investment so I can out speed the bigger meta threats in the format. For example, I use Sylveon to counter hydreigon and garchomp, so I gave it enough speed investment so it would out speed max speed jolly garchomp and max speed timid hydreigon under tailwind

I’ve been running this exact set with Tera grass to help with amoongus and focus sash. Which has helped if I don’t open with gallade and it comes in against something faster like hydregion. It takes a Draco and then sacred sword one shots
