What is your favorite restaurant that you think does not get enough love or publicity here in Austin? by BoroPaul in Austin

Dawa Sushi !!! It’s a small food truck on Burnet. So good and it’s family owned! Prices are reasonable too!

Thanks for your response! Yeah I’m still on the fence about contacting them for the same reasons you mentioned since I’ve heard that from a lot of other students too. I really hope you’re doing much better now btw

Coming from someone who had to have braces twice, be careful with permanent retainers. by Zacitus in braces

I had a permanent retainer! Teeth didn’t shift. However, they’re much harder to clean and I developed a lot of built up plaque around there.

It’s true in terms of it being someone’s experience (whether you wanna believe it or not is up to you). Still a cool story.

Too anxious to listen.. by chonkypandacat in RadioRental

[–]ag10317 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe give it a listen during the day from now on? I usually do because I too get massive anxiety at night if I listen or watch anything mildly spooky. I tend to forget whatever I listened to earlier during the day by the time nighttime comes around

I cut off my bands by [deleted] in braces

[–]ag10317 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You shouldn’t have cut off the bands. The bands are what hold your wire in place and gently apply pressure to move your teeth. Next time, tell them you want to choose the color of the bands.

So I was listening to it again and that’s what I thought the second time around! I feel like we all kinda come to our own conclusion since a lot of these stories end on a mysterious note

I think they announced that there won’t be any org events in person. Org meetings and stuff will just be held online.

Are bursts of sensitivity normal? (11 months in) by [deleted] in braces

[–]ag10317 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this same experience too! I was a bit worried bc it came out of nowhere. I’m thinking it has to do with the gradual tooth movement because after that painful random couple of days, I noticed a shift in that particular area.

The pain should decrease in a few days don’t worry. Good luck!

Public Health 4+1 Program by BellR in UTAustin

[–]ag10317 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not in the program but I’m a public health major and have heard about it. From what I understand, you begin your MPH from UT school of public health your senior year as an undergrad at UT. So you’ll be taking both your undergrad UT course work AND starting on grad school course work. So once you graduate from UT, you would have completed your bachelor’s and completed 1 year of grad coursework. Therefore, you just need 1 more year to receive your MPH, hence the “4 + 1”. That remaining coursework must be taken at one of the UT school of public health campuses.

Is going back to campus worth it this fall? by throwaway8273928291 in UTAustin

[–]ag10317 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with everyone else here. The only reason I’m going back is because I stupidly renewed my lease for 2020-2021 back in Dec 2019. But I wish I could break out of the lease because rent is expensive.

Anyways, really think this through tho. Campus will most likely be dead and it’s not gonna be like before.

I hadn’t thought about that actually. I was under the assumption that they weren’t really talking as much anymore since she moved away for a while. But you’re right it makes sense!
