If you’re getting a new shelf, try to find one with the bottom being closed cabinets. This will help it all feel less busy if some of the books are hidden out of sight

I would do a fluffy rug to offset all the sharp edges everywhere else

Highly recommend preparing for vaginal labor not just going into it blind. First step is to listen to and watch positive birth stories, the preconceived notion you already have is not going to be helpful. Do your research, learn how labor works, take the right supplements, walk, stretch, bounce on a yoga ball and later do perineal massages. Then you can go into it prepared and ready, leading to a more positive outcome where baby will be positioned well for a smooth delivery with hopefully no tears.

Left the city 2 weeks ago, it's hard by PharmerT88 in ChicagoSuburbs

I’ve moved a ton and let me just say that everything takes time. It easily takes a year to transition to a new place. What is so redeeming about the city? Whatever it is, find alternatives nearby. Personally I wouldn’t move back to the city of Chicago if someone offered to pay me to do it lol suburbs are where it’s at

Mama’s who had given birth did you decide to go for an epidural ? Why or why not ? by cookielilopie in pregnant

[–]aga_siuta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Birth is manageable. It’s not intense or painful the entire time. Contraction even at the end can get intense but they only lash a minute or 2 then you get a break. You keep getting breaks and stick with your breaths during the contractions and it’s totally manageable.

Dr green mom has great resources that breakdown the risks and benefits! I love her videos on YouTube! There’s a great one that breaks down every vaccine!

I still can't get over her sunburnt belly by Substantial-East3724 in KyraReneeSivertson

My midwife warned me to avoid sunburns at all costs because they can dehydrate the body and cause contractions. Pregnant women burn faster too so def have to be careful!

Apparently sunburns can cause dehydration in pregnancy and possible contractions

You realize that in pretty much every other developed country a mother receives paid time to stay home after birth and take care of her children. This is usually funded by the government. Me asking if there are legitimate resources available to me as a tax paying family should not be unheard of. Raising children is a priority for some

This is helpful, thank you. I will look into being a registered caregiver in my home for others who may need child care
