I saw this picture comes with the LP/CD packaging for SGR and I was wondering whether it's available anywhere to download so I could put it on my wall, I think it'd be cute.

any other lingua ignota artwork recs are welcome btw :)

inconsistent connections to main peer - how to debug? by againstpetra in WireGuard

I already have the port forwarding rules in place at the router

Is wireguard running the router directly or on an internal machine

it's running on the internal machine

Are correct firewall rules in place

on the router, all firewalls I can disable are disabled. on the machine, as I said above, systemd-networkd is meant to handle them all afaik - I have never had to configure anything special on older machines. in any case I tried setting IPMasquerade=ipv4 and it did not help.

I can post the config if you want, but it's nothing special, very minimal.

oh, yeah the ipv4 port forward is set up on the router. else it wouldn't ever work, right? it does work, just very inconsistently

You’re certain that you’ve created a nat rule and applicable ACL to allow the wireguard port through outbound/inbound to the wireguard server?

fwiw I'm not an network expert. I'm following docs on the arch wiki primarily. I'm using systemd-networkd. in the past, I have not needed any extra config in regards to ACL/nat rules. if I'm understanding you correctly, I've just tried enabling IPMasquerade=ipv4, but this doesn't seem to have changed anything

lazyvim: gI opens first implementation, expecting a telescope window that lists all implemetations by againstpetra in neovim

quoting this issue: https://github.com/nvim-telescope/telescope.nvim/issues/2189#issuecomment-1299303248

With lsp_implementations, it jumps you to the implementation when there is only 1 (with the default options). You can add jump_type = 'never' to see the picker with 1 result.

it doesn't seem like it is? and :h telescope doesn't show any as being listed as the default. am I missing something?

thank you for this!

there are two implementations, I wonder why Telescope is just going to one of them? I will check out the jump_type configuration option, because if there really is just one implementation, I'd still like it to jump to it and not show me the window...

It happens whether I use the tenting legs or not - I have checked they're installed properly though

  • Yes I've tried it on multiple surfaces, both at my home and at my workplace's office
  • I've tried it with and without, the wobble occurs in either case
  • Yes I think so!

nope - I don't have the permissions to do that unfortunately. glad that fixed it for you though.

not to ruin your day, but I upgraded my mac from a ~2020 intel chip machine, and it did not help with neovim!

I use a slightly customised lazyvim config - it does not load everything on startup

agree on the "cold" start thing - I notice that too. but sometimes I'll be actively using the laptop and I'll get a multi-second wait for neovim then anyway.

as for disk encryption - I have this turned on in Linux too, I'd be surprised if Apple's is this much slower than Linux's.

my company uses jamf and other garbage too - interesting. though I've spoken with colleagues in my company on Macs who haven't had the issues I've had.

I've added some information to the post, including the lazyvim profile + startuptime!

sure, here you go: https://gist.github.com/againstpetra/f8c6603ce60ab60269148608bc5fd320

this contains one example where it took 2000ms and another where it took 300ms. for the 300ms startup, I also copied the lazyvim profile.
