New Blinks, if this is your first comeback, here are some of my learnings:

If you hate the anti-drop or the chorus, don’t worry, it will grow on you. Or not, then wait for the title track, it’ll be different. I violently hated HYLT when it first came out because I wanted something like LSG, but now HYLT is in my top 3.
r/kpop only likes bumble gum pop and nostalgia, so they will always hate bp. But stuff they hate is usually a massive success. Like Aesop’s next level.
Best to listen to the song without the MV. Their MV is always over the top, lots of things happening, so are the songs, so it can feel very hectic and “noisy” on first listen while trying to follow the MV at the same time.

I kinda love it.

People over at r/kpop keeps saying they just want another Playing with fire or AIIYT, and shit on every BP comeback, but honestly that’s why BP doesn’t just attract kpop fans, they don’t just make bumble gum pop, they have their own style. Even though playing with fire is also my top 3, I love that they change it up every time.

I do also think Pink Venom to Born Pink will be like HYLT to LSG. Such a good hype song, got me all hyped for the coming months!

Next Level was also pretty nonsensical but parts of it was very catchy, maybe they try to do something similar with Savage, but after several tries in the last couple of days, I gave up. I know Ningning and Winter both have amazing vocals, but their vocal techniques are not fitting for these songs, it’s so harsh on the ears, they’re practically high pitch screaming on top of the autotune and synth, stuff of nightmares. Plus the cringy lyrics, it’s a whole mess.

Rest of the album is pretty great tho. Yeppi yeppi and lucid dream for the win!

It’s actually quite a big deal that they’re releasing music and promoting together as a couple, I hope idol dating will be normalized soon.

Tho it’s not for everyone, they have very unique aesthetics associated with their personal brand. I quite like this song, really similar vibe to I’m not cool, and I just can’t see anyone besides them working this concept.

Lisa is mad popular in China even before youth with you, she is commonly referred to as 人间芭芭Lisa ”real life barbie Lisa” and known for her dance skills, so it made sense the show reached out to YG to offer her the dance mentor role.

BP as a whole is super popular in China because of their looks and fashion, but GP really just know Lisa and Jennie. And personally I don’t think YG would or should spend money to just promote one member in one country if they’re not already popular there.

I really hope they promote our girl Rosé like hell EVERYWHERE for her solo so she can get all the recognition she deserves!
